Russian Warships Arrive at U.S. Pearl Harbor for Joint Drills?

~ The Rebel ~ 2012/06/30 21:44:21
YOUR military leaders are a disgrace for allowing Russian Warships into Pearl
Harbor to do drills with the U.S. Navy. I am speechless....

How many
soldiers and CIA agents have died since WWII in proxy wars with The Soviet Union
and now Russia? The same Intelligence Agents in Russia are pulling the strings
of Islamic terrorism today as they were before the Soviet Union 'alleged'
collapse.

The best had to be Russian troops and U.S. Troops
practicing anti-terror drills over Memorial Day weekend. That was only the 2nd
time that Russian troops were on American soil. Guess who was President the last
time? Bill Clinton.

We defeated Communism? The Soviet Union
collapsed? So, that is a good enough reason to surrender to them?

We bombed the hell out of Japan; Japan was the only nation to have a nuclear attack and it was the United States that dropped the bombs; Japan is now one of our closest allies. Yesterday's enemy is today's friend. Don't hold such grudges.

Oh grow up and stop this juvenile nonsense. No one is "surrendering" anything. Do you recall Ronald Reagan's success with his arm around Gorbachev, or GWB kissing King Faisal on the lips? Sometimes acting out the part of a bully just doesn't scare those who
know all the details of your life, every missile, every warship, every little thing that makes you what you are. Then, when you need their help, like in dealing with North Korea, Iran, and world Islamic jihadists, there is no reason to fear sitting down with them and having a beer, inviting them to dinner, sharing a joke and a story.

Standing at the end of the bar and looking mean just makes a good fighter smile, knowing the bully there is probably a coward and will run away. Get over it, the world doesn't fear the U.S. bully any longer, which is why we need some assistance at this time. Everyone knows we can't afford another war by ourselves and can't even end the ones we have been fighting for twelve years.

I'm really surprised to be reading this. I felt we were more likely to be facing up against them in the European country of Georgia or Azerbaijan. Anyway, I don't like the idea of our navies drilling together, unless there's some plan of cooperation against China.

Russia is no longer our enemy. We have better friends, but they fight religious terrorism as much as the US does. Our actual interests are not far apart. I wouldn't object to sharing a brewskie with a Ruskie.

Obama is just a front man for an International alliance that is functioning out of Moscow.

There was a time that Japanese planes and German ground troops made newspapers every single day. So it goes with Russia. The Cold War is over. It's a new day, and there is no surrender. Our astronauts share the Space Station.

As cruel as it is to think of it this way, and in no way am I belittling individual life, but casualties of war, on average, are equivalent to a black eye or bloody nose for the nation. That's why even if as individuals we have trouble moving on, as a nation we can.

    You're not at war anymore.
Besides, in the past you've been at war with half the world.

    The article states:

The active phase of the drills will take place from July 11 through August 2 to involve 45 warships and support vessels from 22 countries, and also 100 combat aircraft and over 20,000 marines.
