As we have all heard by now Rush Limbaugh has issued an "apology" to Sandra Fluke for calling her a "slut" and a "prostitute". It isn't surprising that the basic translation of this "apology" works out to "I have to say something because the sponsors are crawling up my butt, so I'm sorry I used the words "slut" and "prostitute" even though that's what you are." What he glosses over and fails to mention is the ENTIRE WEEK he spent glorifying in what he said in a constant diatribe in which he attacked and insulted her and the women of Georgetown University no less than 46 times. This, however comes as no shock considering his long history of hostile and misogynistic remarks concerning women.
Rush Limbaugh's recent barrage of sexist attacks on Sandra Fluke are being described as a "new low" for the radio host, which is a remarkable feat given Limbaugh's decades-long resume of misogynistic smears and attacks on women. http://mediamatters.org/blog/201203010012 , http://www.tnr.com/blog/jonathan-cohn/101308/rush-limbaugh-ca...
To provide a proper understanding of just how far Limbaugh has sunk, here's a worst-of list of sexist attacks from the man who recently defined "misogynist" as "a man who hates women almost as much as women hate women." http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201203020012
13-Year-Old Chelsea Clinton As The "White House Dog." As reported by the late columnist Molly Ivins, during an episode of his television show in the early years of the Clinton administration, Limbaugh "put up a picture of Socks, the White House cat, and asked, 'Did you know there's a White House dog?' Then he put up a picture of Chelsea Clinton, who was 13 years old at the time and as far as I know had never done any harm to anyone."
Ivins added:
When viewers objected, he claimed, in typical Limbaugh fashion, that the gag was an accident and that without his permission some technician had put up the picture of Chelsea--which I found as disgusting as his original attempt at humor. http://motherjones.com/politics/1995/05/lyin-bully
The "Testicle Lockbox." One of Limbaugh's (many) running attacks on Hillary Clinton is that she is in possession of a "testicle lockbox" that represents, in Limbaugh's retelling, "the worst characteristics of women ... totally controlling, not soft and cuddly. Not sympathetic. Not patient. Not understanding. Demanding, domineering, Nurse Ratched kind of thing." He boasts of having invented the concept, and deploys it whenever he perceives weakness by men (Clinton need not have any connection to the story). http://mediamatters.org/research/200802150004 , http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200910090036
Are Cain's Accusers Appearing Together Because "They Want To Synchronize Their Menstrual Periods?" During a November 2011 discussion of sexual harassment allegations against Herman Cain, Limbaugh wondered: "I did ask yesterday, what's the big deal with the panel here? Do they want to synchronize their menstrual periods? Why appear together? What, does it give added weight?" http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201111100010
Presidential Limo "Weighs Eight Tons Without" Michelle Obama. Michelle Obama's nationwide anti-obesity campaign has rankled Limbaugh and other conservatives, who have responded to the fitness drive with a barrage of nonsensical attacks on Mrs. Obama's weight -- Limbaugh is fond of referringto the First Lady as "Michelle, my butt," and has said"it doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice." Last September, commenting on the size of the presidential limousine, Rush said: "The beast weighs eight tons without Michelle in it. Eight tons. Sixteen thousand pounds." http://mediamatters.org/blog/201102140015 , http://mediamatters.org/research/201012140031 , http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201102210011
"Translating" Obama Statement On Clinton: "I Don't Know Why The B-I-Itch Is Staying In."On his March 31, 2008, show, Limbaugh discussed comments by then-candidate Barack Obama that "Senator Clinton can run as long as she wants." Limbaugh responded:
LIMBAUGH: Can I translate that for you? "I don't know why the B-I-itch is staying in. I feel like a damn hostage here. But I can't say it because she's a woman. And if I say that, they're going to jump down in my throat for being a sexist." http://mediamatters.org/research/200803310010
Feminism "Was Established To Allow Unattractive Women Easier Access To The Mainstream." Anyone who has listened to enough Rush Limbaugh knows that he holds feminism in low regard and will often refer to feminists as "feminazis," a term he proudly takes ownership of. Last June, in trying to explain attacks on Sarah Palin, Limbaugh declared that feminism "was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream." He elaborated, saying the "feminazis" were "trying to reorder human nature because of how unkind it was to them." http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201202070009 , http://mediamatters.org/research/200506240002
Women Think, "Cheat On Me, Just Don't Tell Me About It." In March 2009, Limbaugh discussed a poll showing support for President Obama despite respondents saying Obama is likely to raise taxes on those earning less than $250,000. Limbaugh commented: "They know [Obama is] lying through his teeth and they still support him. It just means this: what women have always known, 'cheat on me, just don't tell me about it.' " http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200903260024
The following day, Limbaugh told listeners: "[W]hile my closing comment yesterday was certainly a comment containing a large element of truth, it still perhaps was inappropriate and so for that, I apologize." http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200903270013
"Everybody Knows It Was The Vacuum Cleaner That Liberated Women More Than The Pill." In March 2009, Limbaugh discussed a claim that the washing machine was "more liberating [to women] than the pill":
LIMBAUGH: This continual playing to stereotypes must stop. It must be challenged, and it must be swept aside. Women face enough tough decisions each and every day particularly during this recession. We all know that during economic downturns women and minorities are hardest hit, and it's no different now. And in this time of economic challenge, downturn, hopelessness, where is the next car coming from, the next job for the husband? The husband! Where is the husband coming in? Where is the next man coming? To sit here and pretend that you are a comedian and to say that the washing machine was more liberating than the pill according to the Catholic church, this has gone far enough. Besides, everybody knows it was the vacuum cleaner that liberated women more than the pill. http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200903090019 , http://webtest1.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_030909/conte...
Accidentally Attacking A (Male) Journalist As A "Stupid Babe." In Limbaugh's world, the media are under constant threat of "chickification" and women journalists are not news professionals, but rather "info babes." Limbaugh's ardor for sexist attacks on female reporters has backfired on him, however, like when he (wrongly) assumed that reporter Sasha Abramsky was a woman and attackedthe decidedly un-female journalist for his analysis of Obama's political style, saying: "This is what this stupid babe at Salon believes. This is what she wants! Sorry, 'stupid.' Take it back. Ignorant, hopeful, uninformed -- this is what she thinks! This is what she wants!" http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201109280017 , http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201202080011 , http://mediamatters.org/blog/201011150020 , http://www.salon.com/2010/11/14/obama_good_government_abramsk...
NOW Are "A Bunch Of Whores To Liberalism." Limbaugh often channels his disdain for feminists and feminism into attacks on the National Organization For Women, which he has charmingly renamed "NAGS, the national association of gals." In October 2010, Limbaughdeclaredthat the "the NAGS are a bunch of whores to liberalism, and that they are not faithful to women, and they never have been about women's issues." http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200910010032 , http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201010140029
Attacking Danica Patrick's Statement On Contraceptive Coverage "What Do You Expect From A Woman Driver?" Late last month, professional auto racer Danica Patrick was asked her opinion of the Obama administration's mandate that employers provide health plans that cover contraceptive care. Patrick responded: "I leave it up to the government to make good decisions for Americans." Limbaugh attackedPatrick, saying that her answer "sums up the Democrat mindset perfectly," adding: "What do you expect from a woman driver?" http://dailycaller.com/2012/02/21/danica-patrick-on-contracep... , http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201202270006
Justices Kagan And Sotomayor Discuss "Life Experience" Because "They're Women -- That Means They're Victims." Limbaugh, as one would expect, opposed the nominations of both Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. Rush said that both were "not qualified," adding: "The whole point of talking about life experiences -- who are we talking about here? Sotomayor and Kagan. What are they? They're women -- that means they're victims. That means they're minorities. That means they've been discriminated against. That means we owe them!" http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201007220045
"There Are Plenty Of Lard-Ass Women In Politics, And They Get A Total Pass On It." During an October 2011 discussion of politicians' weight, Limbaughsaidthat female politicians "get a pass on every aspect of their appearance":
LIMBAUGH: Let me just tell you point-blank, folks, I don't care what Ruth Marcus said, the truth and the fact of the matter is that female politicians get a pass on every aspect of their appearance. You would never have stories about how some female politician is fat like there are stories about Christie being fat. You wouldn't have those stories. When's the last time you saw a story on Barney Frank being fat? When's the last time you saw -- well, it fits, it still fits. When is the last time -- you don't have it, but all these stories about Christie being fat, they're all over the place. "Will he have the stamina? Will he have the energy? Will he have the health?" You don't have those questions. There are plenty of lard-ass women in politics, and they get a total pass on it. http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201110040019
Female politicians certainly haven't received "a pass" from Limbaugh about their appearances. Limbaugh has targeted prominent politicians such as Hillary Clintonand Nancy Pelosi. http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200909230026 , http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200901230011 ,
We Can Say Scozzafava Is "Guilty Of Widespread Bestiality; She Has Screwed Every RINO In The Country." During his November 2, 2009 program, Limbaugh attackedformer New York Republican congressional candidate Dede Scozzafava:
LIMBAUGH: Scozzafava has screwed every RINO in the coun -- we can say that she's guilty of widespread bestiality. She has screwed every RINO in the country. Everyone can see just see how phony and dangerous they are. You know, 2010 might be a nightmare for PETA. Two animals may become extinct; RINOs and Blue Dog Democrats. Pelosi's gonna kill off the Blue Dogs, and the conservatives are gonna finally get rid of RINOs. The American people have had enough. http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200911020022
Limbaughlater defended his remarks, claiming it "was a fabulous line."

Question on Limbaugh/Maher:

Twitter: #TheMissesHelp
Yes, as a matter of fact I do think it is MUCH worse. Let's put it this way, if some one referred to your mother one of those two ways, which would you prefer? (BTW, I would never say such a thing about Rachel Maddow - I think that's impossible.)
{and continuing this attack for three days straight?}
I listen to Rush every day and actually he didn't do that. He did, for three days, mention her in some of his program time but it was NOT continuous which you and other left-wing media outlets imply. He gave her about 15 to 30 minutes (average) per show.
{For example, calling a woman 'batsh*t crazy' isn't sexist.}
I totally agree with you. Insults are something to be tolerated and not equated to sexism. However, the whole Obama-Left agenda is about tolerance and civility. Well, it seems that they dropped that by the next day. That is what I find offensive.
I love Rush but he was out of line with his reference to Fluke. He has apologized, which is good, but there really was no good excuse for it. However, I do not believe in boycotts against anyone, including those I dislike (i.e. Olbermann, Schultz, Sharpton)
because I fear a mob mentality. Let them speak. You can hate them and disagree all you want but just remember, that shoe may be on the other foot one day. Then there will be a wailing and gnashing of teeth. Let's not start going down this road, for the sake of ALL of us.
I know it wasn't literally three days straight, but over three consecutive days for 15-30 minutes each day... that's wrong. She had a valid point, most of what she said wasn't about her, either... I think it was mostly about her friend that needed such contraception and pills and such. I haven't heard all of her argument, so I'm not sure on that. His remarks about her violated freedom of speech and counts as defamation of character. And 15-30 minutes of ranting each day for three days is still past ridiculous amounts of slander for him to spew about her. That's roughly between 45 and 90 minutes, right? He should have stopped at one comment, if any at all. Everybody expects Rush to be a d*ck, so if he had made one comment, it would have likely blown over (although if that one comment was the one where he called her...

But he took it way too far. He needs to burn for thus, as would anybody else, Republican or Democrat.
If you agree that calling somebody 'batsh*t crazy' and the other examples I listed were not actually sexist, then why did you list them as sexist? Were you just spouting crap and hoping it would stick? Was your post copy pasted? I don't quite get why you listed them. Some insulting should be tolerated, yes, but there's a limit to that, and Rush passed it. Freedom of speech doesn't cover such slander. I'm starting to sound quite redundant, so I'm just going to trust that you get my point here.
Liberals would consider that a sexist attack, a "War On Women", mean and nasty and uncivil, if aimed at a Democrat/liberal woman. Look at all the heat and charges of sexism when Allen West took on Debbie Wasserman Schultz?
http://www.politico.com/arena...
Stephanie Schriock President, Emily's List :
Heck yeah. Of course he should. West’s conduct was unacceptable – adolescent, threatening, SEXIST, and, perhaps most importantly, indicative of a desire to throw stones and call names rather than work toward real solutions for constituents in South Florida.
David A. Harris President and CEO, National Jewish Democratic Council :
West must apologize immediately for his email and, once and for all, contain his sexist hostility.
Gloria Feldt Author of "No Excuses" and former Planned Parenthood CEO :
West responded with ad hominems. Flinging the epithet "not a Lady" with its inappropriate capital "L" as the final thrust of his rhetorical sword simply reveals that West is a SEXIST with a capital "S." Apparently the offending words got his goat in particular because they were delivered by an uppity Woman.

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) refused to apologize Wednesday for what EMILY’s List called a “SEXIST tirade” against Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL).
He didn't even, really, insult her. He told her off, yes. But SEXISM? Do you see what I mean?
Obama said that "at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized ... it's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds."
That is, if you're a Republican. Democrats can make SEXIST accusations over an angry email with no "slut" or "prostitute" accusations. Thus, anything said against a Democrat woman MUST, because a Republican said it, be SEXIST. This is why I included it in my "list" of sexist things. Palin and Bachmann were attacked more viciously every day by Olbermann, Matthews, Schultz, Sharpton, MSNBC and no one said it was SEXIST (at least from the left.)
It's so refreshing to see how you people love to make fun of people that are overweight, fat, have weight issues or what ever you may call it. It is fun to see them mocked, ridiculed, made fun of, the "Yo Momma is so FAT..." type of target. The "Walmart momma" types.
And you think Rush is insulting? HE deserves to be fired because he spoke inappropriately about a woman?
You people "speak inappropriately" about people with weight problems. It's all through this site (concerning Rush.) Do you think that a fat person on this site really enjoys seeing this?
Do they laugh when they see a fat image beside a tub of lard? Having them being referred to (indirectly) as a "lard ass".
What about his impotence problem for which he is thoroughly mocked?
http://www.andrology.com/erec...
Impotence, or erectile dysfunction (ED, E.D.), as andrologists prefer to call it, has always been and continues to remain an extremely common disorder. It is said to afflict as much as 10 percent of the male population. Above the age of 40, nearly 52 % of men are affected. Despite this staggering incidence, few cases come to light.
So, are we to MOCK men that suffer from impotence? Is that funny? Do you think that impotent men are amused? What abou...

So, are we to MOCK men that suffer from impotence? Is that funny? Do you think that impotent men are amused? What about the 10% of men that are on this site and read this stuff you people write? Does that make you feel good? How does it feel when you accuse Rush of being impotent and you make fun of him and, indirectly, all impotent men that read your comments? And you attack Rush for being mean and hateful? Look into the mirror.
The same goes for men with small penises. You deride them (via Rush) relentlessly and unmercifully and you are amused by this? You have no feelings for the, perhaps, Democrat men who agree with you philosophically and ideologically yet you pull them into the circle of “unmanliness” to score a political point?
Are we now able to mock women with vaginal dryness? (Oh man, she needs a lube job.) Or very small breasts (Oh man, get the tire pump!) How about someone that has one leg shorter than the other? That’s funny too. And you attack Rush for being mean and hateful? Look into the mirror.
Yet, you liberals push the idea that you are so tolerant, loving and caring about the world and ALL of its people and push how we should all love each other and always be understanding and kind.. When will you include FAT, disgusting lard-ass, balloon-shaped, jiggly-tummy people who suffer daily from the stars and laughter at their expense? When will you include impotent men in need of Viagra to fulfill their lives with their loved ones? When will you include the men with small penises who suffer from feelings of inadequacy and (self) humiliation? And you attack Rush for being mean and hateful? Look into the mirror.
You don’t want to hear criticism of women or Blacks or Hispanics. Everyone else is a target for your mockery and hatred.
You people disgust me with your hypocrisy.
I know there are some people who are overweight due to medical problems, however, 98% of the overweight peope I know just don't know when to say no to cake, cookies, donuts and other sweets, or overeat every single meal, or eat overprocessed garbage or eat at fast food joints for most of their weekly meals.
Hmmmm, Bill, methinks you doth protest too much.
My post mentioned neither erectile dysfunction nor small penises, yet those are two things you accuse me of ranting about.
You poor thing, go buy some Viagra. I bet your insurance covers it.
While not directed at you, other Limbaugh authors and replies have their replies heavily laded with that crap. My protest was with them, not so much you.
My main complaint, if you read all of it, was with the "loving, caring, kind, tolerant, self-proclaimed lovers of humanity - the Left, yet they go on these relentless attacks going after every human malady and spreading out that net to include, not only Rush, but anyone in his predicament. i.e. fat.

I don't really disagree with you at ALL. That is their weakness and they have to resolve their own problems through discipline and restraint.
In fact, I am a little overweight (10 pounds, not bad for my age) but not FAT in any sense of the word.
Neither am I impotent. (Again, not bad, luckily, for my age.)
Neither do I have a small penis. (Lucky - an accident of birth which I am grateful for)

I REALLY tire of the "methinks you doth protest too much" stuff. It's a non-counter argument, used to put off rather than understand that someone can put forth a defensive argument (for others) and then be accused of defending himself.
Let me accuse you of something, say, you are gay, a murderer, a child molester. Now, you write back and say "No, no, no, I swear I am none of those things, Really. Honestly, Bill. Please believe me." Or you could just say, "No, I am not."
I respond with: {methinks you doth protest too much.} Are you impotent? You are impotent aren't you? {You poor thing, go buy some Viagra}
Ah ha, guys who claim that they are not impotent ARE, in FACT, impotent. Those that claim they don't need to use Viagra and the very same that need it the MOST. You must, therefore, be IMPOTENT and using VIAGRA.
Do you see what I mean? It's not all that funny and it gets one nowhere.
Now I must move. Again.
PS-I'm glad to hear you don't suffer from ED or TP.
Let's move one...Bye
Good night.
What a pathetic pile of dung he is.
P.S. I forgot to say Thanks, Foxy! :)
