Rush Limbaugh: Clint got under Obama's skin. Yay or Nay?

Hollywood may be bashing Clint Eastwood's performance at the GOP convention, but Rush Limbaugh said Friday the reason is that he touched a nerve with leftist celebrities — and with the president himself.

Pointing to the photo the Obama camp tweeted after midnight showing the back of the president's head above the office chair in the Oval Office, Mr. Limbaugh said that proves the White House was worried. And he wondered whether it was Mr. Obama himself.

"It must have gotten to him because he tweeted at 12:30," Mr. Limbaugh said Friday on his radio program.

He also said the reason Hollywood types have panned the speech is because they couldn't find anything to shoot at in Mitt Romney's acceptance address, so they fired at whatever target they could find.

In his appearance just before Mr. Romney's formal acceptance speech Thursday night in Tampa, Mr. Eastwood held a mock conversation with the president, represented by an empty chair.

    As soon as I heard Mr. Eastwood would be speaking at the RNC convention, I knew there would be all kinds of angst in the Obama campaign. Say what you like about Mr. Eastwood's performance, he is a much loved American icon, and it would be a huge mistake for the Obama campaign to attack him too much in that many, many seasoned citizens like and identify with him, and they vote...in huge numbers.

    Rush is an idiot. He loves to manufacture news. I love Clint and didn't see his speech but I'm sure it didn't worry anyone. I really don't care which celebrities back what candidate.

    Obama's very thin skinned. I've seen him react in some instances to display that trait. He can dish it out but can't take it. To me, that's hypocritical. One of the very first things any American who even considers running for the presidency needs to consider long and hard is whether or not they can take the slams. My lord, how soon some people forget, but remember what they did to George W. Bush? I am speaking of openly slandering the man, burning him in effigy, you name it, they did it. Comes with the territory. Obama should have appreciated the humor and laughed and be done with it.

    Clint's speech could have been more polished and rehearsed, but it was an 'off-the-cuff' performance. (I wanted to say 'ad lib', but it wasn't any kind of 'lib.') He did a good job and it was entertaining.

    I'm sure hollyweirdos and the Scamster were upset by it.

    I;m a HUGE Clint Eastwood fan and last night disappointed me, my politics aside I think he was struggle with his words too much and the whole chair bit was extremely childish. Any good point he had was overtaken by that lame bit. I love the guy but I feel like he was put on the spot. Not to mention he looked peeved when they wanted him to say those movie lines when he was in the middle of speaking

    I think his "empty chair" skit was also a warning to Romney: Politicians work for US, if you suck a** - we're gonna let ya go!
