As hard as Rupert Murdoch has worked over the years to implant Right Wing Extremist Propaganda in the minds of the American public, you wouldn't think he'd donate money to someone he considers a Kenyan Muslim Communist AntiChrist. It just goes to show that as willing as the Right Wing is to put partisan ideology ahead of the best interests of the American people, they are just as willing to put greed ahead of partisan ideology. Murdoch knows that in the remote chance that voter suppression works and Romney is installed in the White House, Fox "News" will lose one of its central, and apparently most popular, themes - denigrating and undermining the legitimate Government of the United States. So to hell with ideology, Rupert - it's the profit margin that matters!

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp Has Donated Almost $59,000 to Reelect Obama

Fox News and Rupert Murdoch’s other News Corp properties hate Obama so much that they have donated nearly $59,000 so far this year to reelect him.

According to Open Secrets, News Corp has donated $504,162 to individuals and PAC’s. The surprise comes in who the individual is that has gotten the most money from News Corp. President Obama has received $58,825 from News Corp. The top eight recipients of News Corp cash are the president and congressional committee chairpersons. News Corp must not think much of Mitt Romney’s chances because they have only donated $2,750 to the Republican nominee in 2012.

While Rupert Murdoch’s personal donations have gone to Republicans, News Corp understands that keeping Barack Obama in power is good for business. The delicious irony is that some of the revenue earned from viewers and readers that can’t stand President Obama is being used to help reelect Barack Obama.

Rupert Murdoch didn’t build an empire by being dumb. He knows that if Mitt Romney were to beat Obama, his business would suffer. Murdoch is in the anti-Obama business, which means that he needs four more years of Obama in order to keep his profits up. News Corp’s congressional donations are pretty standard stuff. The big media companies shower money on the committee chairpersons who regulate their industries. Those donations slide back and forth between the parties depending on who has the majority, but the presidential donations are a different story.

News Corp is betting on an Obama victory in November. As they are selling Mitt Romney to their viewers, News Corp is giving money to his opponent. This juicy little fact is something that you will never hear Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity disclose on the air. The next time somebody on Fox News makes you mad, just remember that some of those dollars they are earning with their anti-Obama propaganda are being used to help give the nation four more years of Obama leadership.

You have to know this information is public. We don't care about your rating Mr. Murdoch . What we care about in news is credibility and truthful reporting and editors and owners of media companies that have the courage to be the watchdogs of government.When you lose your credibility, you lose your audience. OMG how intricate it all gets. I hate to seem like a conspiracy person but there is a point here. Money speaks volumes. It is like the comedians who badly want a foul up so that they have plenty of material. If Romney is elected (and he is thinking the economy turn around might happen on his watch) and people are not better off then what will their excuse be this time.

I realize that there are a lot of people and companies that donate to both sides so that whoever wins they feel they are owed a favor, though I was a little surprised to see Murdoch doing it. But just a little :)

Murdoch was a huge supporter of Clinton as I remember. I think he is a democrat - seem to remember reading that somewhere but am too lazy to took it up. The problem with putting people into ideological boxes is that one is generally wrong

He's all over the map as far as his donations. He hosted a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton (for Senate) in 2006, yet donated a million dollars to the Republican Governors Association, and he's a member of the Cato Institute and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Why would the left be desperate? Romney has turned into a gaffe-a-day entertainer, Ryan seems determined to shove his foot as far into his mouth as Romney already has with his own feet, and the man who controls the largest Right Wing Propaganda Machine in the country is supporting the President. The only disappointing thing is that Sarah Palin won't be doing her standup act at the Republican Convention.

No, I base things on a lot of factors, like Romney supporting the very economic direction that caused the two biggest economic meltdowns in American history, his plans to dismantle Medicare and Social Security, his complete lack of ability on the foreign stage, his opposition to affordable health care for every American, and many other things. I also base things on the long list of President Obama's accomplishments, like averting a second Great Depression, 29 months of private sector job growth, saving the American auto industry, his skill in the foreign policy area, and his fight to preserve the Constitutional rights of all Americans, even those that aren't rich white male heterosexual christians. The laugh fest that is the Republican campaign is just icing on the cake.

$56,000 is not that much money really. Plus Rupert Murdoch gives $ millions of dollars in positive news coverage and positive statements to his Republican allies already.
