Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld urged U.S. senators to reject the Law of the Sea Treaty backed by the Obama administration because it would force rich countries to give to poorer ones.
“I do not believe the United States should endorse a treaty that makes it a legal obligation for productive countries to pay royalties to less productive countries, based on rhetoric about the common heritage of mankind,” Rumsfeld said today in testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

My automatic response is "If Donny is against it, I'm for it." But in this case it looks like he might have our national back.
These pissant countries who war among themselves for centuries want us to pay for it.
It seems we may have been too generous over the last few decades, now countries see our generosity as an entitlement.

The Constitution is quite specific about enumerating the things the fed gov is allowed to do, and foreign aid, welfare to the poor or the banks or corporations is NOT allowed! Neither is the fed gov allowed police powers, the Constitution lists only three federal crimes: piracy, treason, and counterfeiting.
All other police powers are left to the States, with the County Sheriff, Constitutionally, being the highest law enforcement authority in any County (he has authority and power over municipal and State law enforcement personnel and even over the unlawful federal law enforcement agents when they encroach on his/her County).
Feed them Hot Dogs!
It takes OUR right to national waters and National beaches away, and basically makes the US a project of the UN.
