Ron Paul Wins in Iowa and Minnesota, Romney in a Panic

Ron Paul supporters surged to victory in yesterday’s Minnesota and
Iowa district conventions, dominating the process and picking up more
delegates to the Republican National Convention. As reported last
week, a number of Romney Hawks are now deeply concerned that Ron Paul has already laid the groundwork for similar success in six more caucus states.

Yesterday’s results for Ron Paul will only increase the influence of Hawks inside the Mitt Romney camp.

Romney advisers are concerned that the rising total of Ron Paul
delegates will lead to an unmanageable RNC. Some observers felt that
the 1992 convention hurt an incumbent president George H. W. Bush and
was a factor in his loss to Bill Clinton.

In most states, victories at the district conventions decide who will
move onto the state conventions where most of the delegates to the
Republican National Convention in Tampa will be selected.

The rules in Minnesota are slightly different and some of those final
delegates were actually selected at scattered district conventions
yesterday. Reports from our own Marianne Stebbins in Minnesota show
that Ron Paul now has 20 out of the 24 delegates already chosen to
represent the state at the Republican National Convention in Tampa
and
the campaign is poised to do just as good at the upcoming state
convention, May 18-19, when the final 13 will be chosen.

In Iowa, Jennifer Jacobs, a reporter for the Des Moines Resister,
broke into open what had been our little secret, namely, the takeover of
the GOP in Iowa. “A rising tide of Republicans who share Ron Paul’s
philosophy of limited government are flooding into GOP party roles in
Iowa,” Jennifer wrote, reporting on yesterdays Iowa district
conventions.

Actually, it is a phenomenon seen all across the country. It is
viewed by many political observers as the biggest transformation of the
Republican Party since 1988,
when evangelical Christians joined the process and dominated state positions for a whole generation.

While the Iowa Ron Paul campaign is keeping its cards close to the
vest, we all got a sneak peak from an the Des Moines Register story
which reported that six of the new Iowa GOP state central committee
members elected Saturday have publicly expressed support for Ron Paul.
Joes Kurtinitis, Kris Thiessen, Dave Cushman, Jeff Shipley, John
Kabitzke and Marcus Fedler. “Two more,” Jennifer Jacobs reports, “have
close ties.” The new state chairman is also a Ron Paul supporter, who
served as a co-chairman for the congressman’s Iowa state organization.

The Iowa state GOP convention is set for Jun 16, 2012.

Meanwhile, the sleepy New York Times has posted for five months and
still posts, even today, that the total delegate count for Ron Paul in
Iowa is one. They say that the total delegate count for Ron Paul in
Minnesota is nine. In fact, Ron Paul supporters will now dominate both
state conventions.
And the same trend is ongoing in states across the
country.

I seriously think the GOP would rather have Obama for another four years than Ron Paul. Why else would he be totally ignored whilst picking up delegates, which mean MORE than the popular vote. It’s not over yet for the good doctor but the longer he stays in the bleaker it looks for the GOP (Romney has no chance in hell, but don’t tell the “Anybody But Obama" folks that). Once a Ron Paul supporter you never go back, there is no “lesser of two evils” we want NO evil. Run third party Ron, destroy the Republican Party so it can look in the mirror and rebuild with some Libertarian policies. The reason so many youths like Ron Paul is because we know he is right. There is no need to invade third world nations and pillage their huts. There is no need for Big Brother, which Romney would be too. There is no need for the war on drugs. Social issues are as useless as the departments Ron Paul wants to get rid of and for good reason! I know all boomers aren’t brainwashed but I think a majority of them really do believe what they see on the news, hopefully once more are gone in 2016 there will be a better chance for Rand maybe.

What a shame! Ron Paul RESOLUTION for America is right there, in front of their eyes, yet they do not see it.
Maybe we can have an IQ test before giving them the ballot.

I don't know what the Ron Paul admirers are thinking about because Ron Paul will never catch up, let alone lead over Romney, especially at this point. Iowa and Minnesota do not have that many delegates to hand out anyway, at least not compared to how many Romney has already taken. Too bad my own state was wasted on Santorum. He was an idiot.

When you don't understand how the delegate process works, it's hard to explain to someone like you how Paul has a chance, even without a majority. It will all be sorted out in Tampa in August.

Oh I understand how the deleagte process works, but by August it will be too late, Romney will already have the nomination. Paul won't be the the Republican nominee.

no he just has the idiots who believes in this Supposedly garden of Eden where business does what is right and let everyone fiend for themselves. Wow, that was harsh. "Idiots", REALLY?! I guess hope for freedom and faith in God is foreign to you? We do not think he is a god, he has a message that should be listened to though. Who cares if he doesn't becomes president -- try to look at the bigger picture here!

and calling some one Neotrons and Obamanauts is a not harsh, now i did not say i did not listen to his platform in fact he has one or two ideals that i like. But the sad truth is most of his policies are thought up in some dream Utopia that has never been and never will be.

And as far as the freedom and faith in god argument goes, dont try that BS with me, what person in his right mind dont want freedom and as for god, what god, is it the Hindu god, the Islamic god, the Mormon God, the Jewish god, or is it just your god? What about the atheist that are part of this country and a growing part, are we to believe as you do, or risk being called an enemy towards Democracy?

Help me out because i am confused.

Fair enough. I guess neotrons and obamanauts was a bit too cute and imaginative for most to get a simple chuckle out of. Regardless, they are still names I must admit. :)

As for freedom... this is what Ron Paul stands for, plain and simple.

My God is the only god there is. I'm Catholic and believe it is the one and only true religion. As for atheists, they are just lost souls. Without a faith or hope, life must get pretty difficult when you only can rely on yourself and not the creator. Some of them are wonderful human beings, no question in my mind, but being wonderful in this life is not going to save you in the next.

I admit I do not have a free ticket to Heaven just because I am Catholic. I must work hard, pray often, sacrifice, love God above myself, and do as Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us. But if I'm not Catholic and part of Christs' Church, I cannot be allowed into Heaven.

Hope this alleviates some of the confusion.

so your god is the only one, so there for over a billion people must be wrong and there for they dont like freedom because your god is the only who stands for it, is that it?

First i am not a atheist i am more agnostic than anything, i dont believe in this my god is better than yours this is how wars get started and how we ended up with this tift with Islam and Christianity. I sometimes think how much better this world would be if there were no religions, but that is a pipe dream.

Second, when money is involved, you know and i know those with money gets to make the rules. It has nothing to do with wanting some one to take care of you it has everything to do with those who dont have the money and ensuring that their interest are looked out for.

So this argument about government taking care of the people's needs makes them lazy and fat is just wrong. If government did not look out for those who are less fortunate what type of country do you think we would have, hell why have a government in the first place?

what Ron Paul stands for or what he espouses as far as business and doing away with regulations because corporate America will always do whats right or we can take them to court, is pure utter BS you know it and i know it.

As far as wars go, i like that ideal, but i also know he is full of crap there also, you know and i know no matter who is president if Israel is attacked we will be there, so Ron is full of it there also.

But like i said one or two of his ideals i do like, but with those that i like, i must take the massive BS package also, and that i dont want.

So the world i live in is reality and you would see that also, if you were not such a Ron Paul cheer leader.

AND as far as war.. where did it ever become our obligation or our RIGHT to invade other country's (without the expectation of war) for our own personal and political gain? Sure we can do it ..but there will probably be "DECLARED" war , unlike the bully war going on right now where it HAS NOT been declared , we are just Occupying their land and killing their people> and they are Killing Ours!
RON PAUL is not talking about Ending ALL WAR, He is ending NEEDLESS war, caused by the bastard politicians that think they own the world, and can do as they please! damnit ignorance is really pissing me off, IF people would look at his documented plans for the United States, you would actually know what you are talking about.
