Romney adds to delegate lead with win in KentuckyAssociated PressBy STEPHEN OHLEMACHER
WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitt Romney won the Kentucky Republican presidential primary Tuesday, inching closer to theGOP nomination for president.

With no serious opposition left, the former Massachusetts governor easily won the contest, claiming all 42 delegates at stake in Kentucky. Texas Rep. Ron Paul fell short of the 15 percent of the vote needed to win any delegates.

Voters also went polls in Arkansas, with 33 delegates at stake in that state.

Romney has 1,034 delegates, leaving him 110 shy of the 1,144 delegates needed to win the GOP nomination for president. If he continues to dominate, Romney will reach the magic number next week, when voters in Texas go to the polls.

Virtually assured of the party nod, Romney has been in general election mode for weeks. He's been spending much of his time fundraising and focusing on Democratic President Barack Obama.

As voters in the two Southern states weighed in, Romney planned to spend Tuesday evening at a campaign fundraiser in New York before an appearance Wednesday in Washington to deliver a speech.

He is in the midst of a three-day swing through the Northeast that is expected to bring in at least $10 million.

Romney has struggled in some previous Southern contests, when former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich were in the race. With them on the sidelines, Romney has an opportunity to display solid support in two states he should win in November.

Even though they have left the race, Santorum, Gingrich and Paul were on the ballot in Kentucky and Arkansas.

Texas, which offers 152 delegates, votes May 29.

you have a better chance of Obama loosing if Ron Paul is nominated, Proof, you guys are the ones that keep saying if Ron Paul supporters don't back Romney Obama will win. Which means if Paul was nominated than the Romney supporters could get behind Paul and we could kick his socialistic ass out of the white house, but the Romney people would rather back a RINO and re-elect Obama.

IM sorry but neither of them, Romney or Obama are going to be any good or any Different for that matter for our country.. Their ideas and plans are too similar, they support the same things as far as the constitution and economy goes.
I wont vote for a republican Obama.

You should see this guys. Rule 38 of the Republican National Convention rules states that "No delegate or alternate delegate shall be bound by any attempt of any State or Congressional district to impose the 'Unit Rule'" This means that most or all of Romney's 1,034 delegates are not bound to him, and can vote based on their own judgment and beliefs. Of course, this means that the GOP race can still go either way, and "Rmoney" is far from winning yet. Sourced from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Romney will have way more than what is needed to win the nomination outright. There is NO chance that the delegates would leave whom the voters voted for. NONE. NADA. ZERO.

Romney's supporters are tentative and are not fully dedicated to Romney. They aren't fully dedicated like Ron Paul Supporters are. If all delegates are unbound, I am absolutely certain Romney will lose a huge chunk of his support base to Paul while Paul keeps most or all of his. I see so many Romney supporters saying they would hate to vote for him but "Anyone but Obama"; a monumental shift would occur if the delegates were given free choice.

Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. And those who are so beholden to the perceived perfection of Ron Paul's policies that they would undermine Mitt Romney's bid to unseat Obama are very few as cults often are.

Who is the Republican nominee? To my knowledge there is no current Republican nominee. Not all of the states have held their state conventions. But of the ones that have - Ron Paul has walked away with a majority of delegates in 7 of them. So... who is the nominee?

Only one problem with your logic. He's lost the nomination. There is NO chance for the nomination. Losers don't win. Join us to fight Obama's destruction of the greatest Nation ever conceived and we will fight another day to get a Conservative we can all believe in. Otherwise, it's OVER.

The county is NOT free, it is NOT what we the people want.

The US is the most regulated country, has the most law... nearly the largest prison population for rediculous and victimless "crimes".

Romney will NOT improve things if he wins. He's a puppet and everyone should see that by now. He's already proved there is no fight in his stance.

Hi! I'm all in favor of Ron Paul OR Romney for President. I would have preferred Ron Paul, but I think there's not a snowball's chance in hell of him getting there now. The important thing to remember is this. The reason we support Ron Paul is because of his beliefs, talking points and actions up till now. None of the principles he stands on would be supported by another four years of Obama. A third party candidate, even if it's Ron Paul, will almost assuredly mean Obama is getting reelected. It's for that reason that I call upon ALL Ron Paul supporters to open their minds to supporting Romney should Ron Paul fail to get the Republican nomination. (Which is almost a given at this point.)

Let me start with the first comment below from Peanut. zbacku, do you really think comments like that are going help? Now I need 2 things from you!

First - chastise Peanut for the nasty comment and all of his rudeness he has shown to Paul supporters

Second - Tell us what ORomney will do to make any difference. No generalities. No ABOs. No better evils. No propaganda links. Just tell us exactly what and how ORomney will stop the current path of demise.

Peanut's a friend of mine on Sodahead and I read his comment and didn't think it was nasty at all. I do think his opinion is contrary to the common good, but that goes for so many of our opinions. We ALL need to start working together to oust this pretender in Washington.

Read my comment above while I think about your question. I disagree with the checklist rdmatheny-RP2012 posted, just below this. Some of the things he says Obama is for are not true. Some of the things he says Romney is for seem ludicrous, but I can't honestly say I know for a fact they're not true. Even so, you must admit that ABO is smarter than another four years.

All you have to do is tell us what ORomney will do to make any difference. No generalities. No ABOs. No better evils. No propaganda links. Just tell us exactly what and how ORomney will stop the current path of demise.

In the meantime, "Anyone But Obama" is the exact same meaningless chant as "Hope and Change".

Whether Romney stops the current path we will not know. However, we ALL know that Obama's path of Marxism has to be stopped. If it is not, America will cease to exist as it is now. That is fact. One way or another Obama will destroy us, that is his agenda. You know that and I think ALL of us know that. If Romney gets in, we can join together and fight another day. If not, it's over.

I see nothing rude from Peanut. I hope he hasn't been rude with other posts, as I may have, but to see so many not understand what would happen if Obama wins is so frustrating. He may have blocked many of you, but that is his prerogative. I don't, even though I have been called an idiot and worse by Paul's supporters just because I haven't jumped on his band wagon.

See, you cannot see that ORomney is the same as Ofraud or you would be able to tell us what the difference is that will stop the demise - and you can't.

A vote for ORomney is the same as a vote for Ofraud. It is you ORomneys who are going to ensure another 4 years of Ofraud. Even if the Paul supporters vote for ORomney, he cannot beat Ofraud. Ron Paul is the only one who can!

"Repugnant mouth's" is very rude and nasty. Why has he blocked all of us? Maybe you need to brush up on all of HIS posts! He and his type are ensuring that Paul supporters will never support anyone he is supporting!

PS. If in fact Ron Paul would have gotten the Republican Nomination, I would have fought as hard for him as I would do for ANY one running against Obama.

However, I will NEVER vote for a Third Party at this time. Don't want ANY chance that the split vote puts Obama in.
