Is the rest of the politicians on both sides of the political fence that have a swiss bank account all right with you?

I don't care, they earned it, if I had enough money I certainly would put it in a swiss account and only have 15% taken out rather than the 30% or more that he would have taken out banked here. Besides, when he made the money, his tax bracket is above 30% tax rate, he invested it and he pays 15% , smart move, that's what you call investing your money for the best return. They wouldn't do it if they were losing money.

Here's a question: Would you invest money here and take a beating paying taxes or invest it where you made the most and paid the least? If you were smart you would do the latter, if you said invest here you are a liar. ;-)

Just like Warren Buffet, he makes $100,000 a year salary, makes his other money off of foreign investments and then has the gall to say he pays less than his secretary who makes $200,000 to $500,000 in salary. It's the old switch the numbers trick and tell a white lie, typical progressive liberal trick.

It's tax evasion, which is against the law.

It's not tax evasion. Anyone of us could do the same thing. It's called investing and he, you or I have every legal right to do it. It would only be tax evasion if you didn't pay the required tax on that money when you dip into it. He still has to pay 15% taxes on that money. Now that man would be one stupid mutha if he kept it here and paid 30 some odd percent on the same money. Our tax laws are so invasive and the politicians are making it more so, you cannot tax people to death and expect them to invest here. The laws need to be changed to bring people's money into our country not out of our country.

I don't think taxing rich people 15% is "taxing them to death".

You still aren't up to speed here. First of all he already paid over 30% on earned income before he sent it to the Cayman Islands where he gets further taxed 15%. If he kept his money here, which by the way would be as stupid as it gets, he would pay 35% plus when he pulled it out to use, he would get hit again at 35%...hell f*cking low! Are you following me know sparky? Or are you still in la la land?

When has he ever paid more then 15%? The records he relased show that for the past two years he has paid LESS then 15% on over $40,000,000 in income.

You are not listening. You have to open your mind, stop with the preconceived idea that this guy is a tax evader because he is not. When he first made the money that he put in the bank in the Cayman's he paid the regular high priced tax on that money, he then put it in the bank in the Caymans and pays roughly 15% tax on that from then on. You are starting remind me of a dog that chases it's own tail. If you don't get this by now, then stop asking me the same stupid question over and over again.

I could care less how much he paid in the past. Don't if a flying flip. The fact is that he can sit back and keep raking in $27,000,000 PER YEAR off his $125,000,000 in investments and only pay 15%. I don't care if he was paying 99% in the past. He only pays 15% or less now.

No, it is just that I KNOW he hasn't paid over 15% in decades so why the F would I care what he paid that long ago on so little?

Why not? he earned his wealth and has paid the appropriate taxes on when it was earned, and on the capitol gains when he takes a risk and invests money he has already paid income taxes on..... which promotes job creation.

    That is the American way!

He said he has paid the appropriate taxes on earned income and is releasing his income tax form; so prove he hasn't. There are $trillions kept in Europe because regulations
aren't favorable for investment in this country, and all legitimate. Are you one of those with your hand out for entitlements paid for by the 1%?

I am a mechanical engineer and a programmer. I earn my money. I work for hard for it. And he is running for office so I have the right to judge him for what he does with his money. Off-shore investments hiding money. Swiss bank accounts. $27M/year and only 15% taxes. Doesn't smell good to me! Time for Ron Paul! XD

You need to get your sniffer fixed dude. Because if you are a mechanical engineer than you are smart enough to know that he is not evading taxes or you are just plain lying and just don't get it.

This is hilarious - I'm sorry, but there is so much more here than just Romney hiding money. lol This is a full on admission that Andrew Melon was right!

What the good Senator just admitted, albeit inadvertently, is exactly why the Lib/Prog strategy of "tax and spend" never works. Because when taxes on the wealthy are too high - they either move or hide the money. You or I couldn't do that, but they can and do.

When you lower the taxes (or offer them the chance to pay on hidden money without penalty) they bring the money back as it's easier to simply pay a lower rate than it is to move or take the risk of hiding the money. Which is precisely why lowering taxes on the wealthy generates more revenue than raising them consistently.

To your point though - any elect / official (or would be elect) that knowingly breaks the law is not ok, in my book. No matter who it is. I don't have all the facts here, so I'll leave it at that. I never intended to vote for Romney to begin with.

As long as it is transparent and appropriate taxes are paid.

Although one wonders why he wouldn't keep his money in his own country (the one he wants to be President of and 'save'). What are the benefits of putting your money into a Swiss account other than to avoid taxation?

Obama holds a "blind trust" investment which means no one except the trustee / fiduciary knows where the money is invested or being held. Might be interesting to find out just whose economy Obama is supporting also.
