Not many wildfires in Arizona this year. I heard Al Qaeda's been urging the wackos to start some of the Western fires. Colorado officials were alluding to that fact until our govt. told them to shut up.
Exactly 28 wildfires just all happened to begin simultaneously in NV, AZ, NM, CO, UT, WY ID & MT? Dept. of Interior cut funding for BLM which leases the aerial tankers from private companies each year. There were 44 available in past years and now they're down to 8 after two complete loss crashes and one landing gear failure. The planes are 50 years old and in pretty bad shape. You can only do so much from the ground.
Salazar is also on the hot seat for not turning requested info over to the House Oversight Committee and may be held on contempt charges himself, stemming from shenanigans after the Gulf spill and subsequent moratorium.
He used to be a decent guy, but that all changed when he went to work at the WH.
And Obama cut the funding for more C-130 tankers and I've always felt that Salazar's two remaining brain cells have always been in a fight to the death.
Yup, and those can't get low enough into some of the areas to make a good drop. They're definitely needed but the smaller, more agile aircraft are the most effective. I hope Romney makes this a priority and rebuilds the fleet. Maybe some 747 Supertankers for the big stuff that carry 7 times what a C-130 can. We should have a standing fleet of 100 aircraft directly assigned to Dept. of Interior - Bureau of Land Management - Parks & Recreation.
Perhaps give Ben Nighthorse a call and see if he's interested in the job? He was a good in Colorado and I'm sure he would take it seriously.
Yes he does, but he brought on some good points especially in regards to minority education. I strongly feel education and hard work are the keys to America remaining a great nation.
I've heard more of a ruckus at chess tournaments.
Now that I see he was at the NAACP..... the reason is plain as black & white.
Are you staying away from any flames down there?
