Romney's Comments Ripple Across BattleGround Map

Mopeder 2012/09/20 09:26:47

Romney's comments ripple across battleground map. Mitt Romney's off-handed comment that he doesn't worry about the 47 percent of Americans who pay no income taxes has quickly entered the bloodstream in the presidential campaign's most hard-fought states.

His comment, in a video revealed this week, is prompting expressions of shock — but also shrugs — from Nevada to Florida to New Hampshire and the handful of battleground states in between.

The people here on SH are very active in their political lives. Some are extreme right and some are left in their way of thinking but NOT ONE person on SH can tell you who Romney is.NOT ONE. Politicians say what they are direceted and scripted to say.The only true things that come from a candidates heart are those things said "off the cuff". That is exactly how Romney described his statement to the donors where he used his 47% statement. He is now trying desperately to become a democrat. He is now concerned about 100% of Americans, wants to help the needy, and wants credit for being the grand father of Obamacare. By the time the elction gets here he will be pro choice, pro union, and slightly gay.

Romney showed how worthless his campaign fact-checkers are with that refuted lie.. His supporters don't seem anymore intelligent either...

I do find it funny that tax deductions are responsible for most of the reasons these people pay no income tax, those same deductions that the wealthy pay lawyers to find and use for themselves.... So its wrong for less well off to take advantage of tax deductions but not the wealthy? Hell Mitts $77K deduction for his Horse is more then most of these people make in a year. That in itself is obscene....

The Tax Policy Center’s estimate means that some 76 million households won’t pay federal income tax in 2011. About two-thirds pay payroll taxes..

Now will any Conservatives comprehend that statement..

Really, this shouldn't shock anyone. When the new polls came out giving Obama a boost, and after his handlers had their intervention, Romney is now touting that he is "100% for the people". We all know how republicans are with doublespeak and arithmetic- this still means 100% for the wealthy and corporations.

Why he continues to be ahead in the swing states, and has more ways to win the electoral votes than Romney.

Romney has actually been saying as much (in public) all along. One only has to listen to these guys, and don't get so caught up in the partisan rhetoric. He's essentially said, in past comments, that he has no concern for the middle class. He's more concened with deregulation. If the rich corporations (and their shareholders) get richer as a result, they will create jobs and trickle down wealth to the middle class, and the poor can go ____ themselves (Lol, that bit about the poor is not true...is it?).

Mother Jones never admitted that the film was altered. David Corn only said on the day the original clip was released, that there was much more to the film, and that more will be able to be seen later. Now that the entire unedited film is released, you have no leg on which to stand in your statement.

Pretty ignorant statement even for a Conservative...

"The Tax Policy Center’s estimate means that some 76 million households won’t pay federal income tax in 2011. But they still owe other taxes. About two-thirds pay payroll taxes, and most pay state and local income and sales taxes as well as excise taxes on gas, tobacco, cigarettes and alcohol. Of the one third who don’t pay payroll taxes, more than half are elderly who no longer work, and just under half are families with incomes under $20,000. Only about 1 percent of the population pays neither income nor payroll taxes and earns more than $20,000 a year, according to the Tax Policy Center..

    "About two-thirds pay payroll taxes,"
Do you understand that means they WORK..

Romney is in hard position. He has to tell his rich funders something entirely different than the people whose votes he needs. This need to be two-faced is not new. Politicians used to say different things to different groups all the time. However, here in the 21st Century, technology, small digital video cameras and the Internet, prevents Romney from telling two different stories.

I couldn't agree with you more. Do you know what I see coming in the next few weeks? I think that the super paks and the big monies that have been donated to Romney is going to dry up and concentration will be by the likes of Karl Rove to shore up the senate and House races. Afterall, who wants to pour money down a rat hole?

    I agree.

I also stick by my clams that people will come forward claiming that they are Romney's plural family. Additional children will demand DNA paternity tests. Romney will find he can't hide his DNA like he does his tax returns. That scandal will sink the Romney's ship. Please see:

I believe that the only goal of the Right is power and they will do anything, pay anything, say anything to get it. Then when they do, they don't know what the hell to do with it other than making our country a piggy bank for the wealthy.

You are so right Sissy~Everyone wants to say that the video has been edited to make Romney look bad. Seems like he's doing a good enough job of that himself. He can't continue to talk out of both sides of his mouth. As someone else said, today's technology doesn't allow people to lie and get away with it for very long. He's showing his true colors. It's very strange though....I've never seen someone who just WANTS to be president. Usually, people tell you what they want to do to move our country in a better direction.. Unfortunately, Mittens doesn't do that. He acts like this is a high school election. By the way, he probably couldn't win one of those either. hehehe OBAMA 2012
