Seriously this man is so similar to Obama on so many issues that I figured even the Republicans would be smart enough to pick a better candidate. I guess Republicans want a candidate who is willing to push for carbon caps on a global scale, raise taxes using health care mandates, etc.

That's the odd thing about extremists, on both sides. Even though they represent 5-10% of their "side" if they perceive any attack or disagreement, of any kind, you are instantly thrown into the far, opposite end, of the discussion. You and I have both quoted John Adams and his concern about where the two party system would end up (look around). Here's another quote which seems very germane these days:
