Seriously this man is so similar to Obama on so many issues that I figured even the Republicans would be smart enough to pick a better candidate. I guess Republicans want a candidate who is willing to push for carbon caps on a global scale, raise taxes using health care mandates, etc.

Actually, he has yet to sew up the nomination. Ron Paul still in the mix, and with Nebraska, he will get a nomination. With the Delegate support, the Law suit in Federal Court against Romney and his campaign, it would appear it is still wide open.

That would be interesting. I don't see Paul in the general election though. On top of that, while he is the most libertarian candidate within the Republican party, he still has a lot of issues. Gary Johnson still seems like the best candidate for the job so far.

I won't knock Gary, but he has less chance as a third party. Paul has the support. If he does pull out of the convention with the nomination, it will be over for Obie. Security will have to be very tight around him then. The establishment won't take it lying down.

If Paul somehow gets the nomination, he's going to have to select someone very libertarian and someone who is socially moderate/liberal as his running mate in order to win the general election.

it looks like they wanted a yes guy. he doesn't seem to have a position about anything until checking to see if the tea partiers approve. if he takes a position without their approval he will change it in a matter of hours...

Reaganomics and Mittenomics are rather different; Mitt helped push for tax hikes while Reagan attempted to push for tax decreases for all Americans.

Like somebody said: When you vote for the lesser of two evils, you're still going to end up with evil.

Ron Paul is the man. There doesn't appear to be anyway he is going to be President in 2013, so it looks like we're stuck with two dreadful options.

There were definitely other candidates who were not so far to the right. It's also not as much an issue of whether the guy is to the left or to the right; it's an issue of whether this guy will support your freedom or government power. It seems to me that the answer is clear: he will support government power.

He was the only candidate that was anywhere near the middle,Republicans don't seem to grasp the fact that a majority of the American people do not want a extremest as President, and won't put one in office.
