ROMNEY VS THE OBAMA on the Keystone Pipeline

Arizona1950 2012/05/12 00:03:16

ROMNEY … oil tycoon Harold Hamm, chairman of Romney’s Energy Policy Advisory Council and host of a recent quiet soirée netting $50,000 apiece from approximately 200 Romney supporters backing the Keystone pipeline said it would create jobs.

Just a note, did you know that if the northern section of the Keystone pipeline were complete, it would connect to Hamm’s oil field, giving him a 1,700-mile conduit to the Gulf of Mexico?

When asked about the fundraiser’s attendees who paid to hear Romney speak, Hamm wouldn’t mention names but told The Oklahoman he “knows a lot of oil folks” and “invited everybody” he knows. Hamm and his publicists did not return calls to The National Memo.

OBAMA … "Today I'm directing my administration to cut through the red tape, break through the bureaucratic hurdles, and make this project a priority," Obama said.

Just a note, the southern portion of the pipeline would drain a glut of crude in Cushing, the storage hub for U.S. crude oil traded on the futures market, while easing deliveries to refineries along the Gulf Coast.

"President Obama has taken a dangerous wrong turn on energy," said Larry Schweiger, president of the National Wildlife Federation. "Rushing pipelines and drill rigs for rich oil executives will only delay the investments we need in renewable energy and create long-lasting damage to our waters and lands."

NOW LET US LOOK AT RON PAUL … as he “shares the message of constitutionally limited government"

“I know many of are you against the "environmentalists" who oppose this pipeline... but I am coming at it from a different perspective. I am an environmentalist, but only through strict property rights & privatization.

I think this sort of project, which WILL receive federal funding and will be similar to the Hoover Dam during the New Deal, will create thousands of temporary jobs in the U.S. However, it WILL NOT make us less dependent on foreign oil or more energy secure.

The main issue I have with it is not environmental per se (it is a factor), but the fact that THOUSANDS of homes and peoples’ land will be seized by the government using eminent domain. I am not quite sure how believers in liberty could support such a federal project that will crush the privacy and individual freedom of Americans by stealing their land or paying them to insert a giant pipeline of oil through their property with their own tax dollars! It’s no different than FDR with roads, dams, and other infrastructure investments.

I think that if oil were not subsidized, we would have a much more expansive market for clean energy, which is where the market needs to go. More choices make everything better and it is not different in terms of energy.

A strong example is food, the government subsidizes corn, which in turn makes cheap, shitty meat & cheap processed foods that comprise over 80% of most grocery stores. THIS, as you guys are aware I’m sure, drives up the price of REAL food. Just like the subsidization of oil, natural gas, & coal drive up the price of cleaner alternatives.”

Let’s face it folks …
What we think we will do and what we do when it’s time to stand for our Nation do not always measure up in the eyes of others and never will ... but I am hoping that the majority in this country will not act upon the government’s continued desire to steal from Peter to pay Paul whether it be to balance the budget, increase entitlements, or create temporary jobs by taking someone’s property (your business, home, land, or paycheck) and telling you it’s for the greater good.

What is the will of the people?

I believe come November we can make a difference so that those who have made themselves slaves to the master for money, sloth and greed do not become the masters and the masters of those they put into slavery for money, sloth, and greed fail.

Those who follow and support the Obama as their “great hope” really are no different than those who follow and support Romney believing he is the “true great hope”, Both Romney and the Obama in their own way tell us the way out of this mess is to steal from one to give to another … so the reality is you support and vote for either and you will reap what you sow in what direction this country takes over the next 4 years.

So to those who try to slander my name or take my comments out of context I repeat ... I will NOT vote for either. I love this country too much to allow the Neocon's slander or the Obamanut(s) hiding as a conservative (2-headed snake) so they can hide in private groups or block to spread their venom. No doubt in their efforts at Re-direction to get the Obama re-elected. Afterall, as most of us know, Romney can't beat Obama!

DEM/GOP One-Party System = Socialism. Socialism = slavery. US Constitution = Freedom.

IF THE CONSTITUTION IS NOT IMPORTANT TO YOU … YOU WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOW.

VOTE SMART … VOTE PROUD … VOTE THE CONSTITUTION

You!

Excellent post AZ! You'd think something short of going over the crony-cap cliff might wake most sheople from their slumber but all it seems to take is the wave of some shiny fools gold and a few catchy slogans to put them right back under the DemoRat-ReTreadAgains trance.

I don't understand this idolatry of either Obama or Romney. Neither of them is a great hope or true hope to me. One man is not the problem, it is the crew the POTUS chooses, advisors, czars, appointees, contributors et al that reveal the agenda.

So many people love to hate oil, but if they really looked at our nations biggest companies, they'd consider profits, expenses, American jobs and taxes paid, to realize there are companies like Apple and GE who are truely ripping off our nation.

I agree with the Pipeline for both the temporary and permanent jobs it will create with private investment rather than public funding. This year, the closing of refineries in PA/NJ/DE/CA/WA and Virgin Islands, NHS has declared (March 19) a concern for both our national defense and the safety of our critical infrastructure, plus shortages! (1974?)

Why? Because pipelines are absolutely paramount just as the water supply to seven western states due to Hoover Dam. These high gas prices are raising the cost of EVERYTHING for EVERYONE and we need private investment since the public trough is empty.

Nope ... he's just not going to spend money campaigning for caucuses and primary votes because unless you are completely clueless or living in a cave the GOP has been breaking all the rules JUST like the OBAMA did when people tried to vote ...

The GOP is doing to Paul what the DEM did to McCain ... SAME DIRECTION SAME POLICIES ... SAME THUGGERY of trying to make sure their guy gets in so they can continue to take down America for profit.

THANK GOD ... some of us have woken up!

His campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. His supporters will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry the message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.

As he said, and I quote, "Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have. I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support."

I guess this all doesn't matter to the progressives and the NeoCons ... you've aleady shown us ...

I'm sure calling you out on spreading FUD bothers you. Translate what he said into something real and you get "I can't raise enough money to win, because I don't have the support that I need to win." Don't pretend that you are "Enlightened" when you can't even see the plain truth in front of your face. If I were making that kind of mistake, I would probably vomit.

The combined efforts of the GOP and Romney's millions can just about outspend anyone ... I see you follow the same mindset of running yourself into debt over a worthless and in this case a stupid direction in trying to outspend billionaires.

No wonder your a closet Obama lover. Romney is cut from the same cloth of having no principles or integrity ... just another wannabe liar and globalist in chief.

HAHAHHAAAA! That's hilarious. Whine about not being able to outspend billionaires while announcing that is what RP will try to do to get delegates. AAAHH HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA! What a joke. Ron Paul's end is near.

You are the one who voted for Obammie in the first place. He used you and tossed you to the curb and now you are a jilted angry fan. You got that for which you asked. But, stop trying to make that the fault of someone else.

Nope ... I learned but obviously you haven't ... What will be your excuse for voting the same policies and direction for the systematic take-down of America for profit. You've been given far more info on direction than I was given or understood in 2008 so what's your excuse for voting the status quo

If Dr. Paul has hard evidence that the oil companies get government checks, price supports, or anything of that nature, he needs to put it out there and tell us why it's unconstitutional. (If he can do the first, the second would almost be self-evident, and would in no case be difficult to explain.)

The constitution means nothing to so many partisan pups on both left and right. It looks to me like they would be happier with a score card than the laws of the land to back them up.
Give me property rights or give me death.Without them we have nothing anyway.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Mitt Romney earning 50% of the vote and President Obama attracting 43% support. Four percent (4%) would vote for a third party candidate, while another three percent (3%) are undecided.
