Romney has gone and done it again. The Republican presidential candidate called 47 percent of Americans "victims" for supporting President Obama in a recent video of him talking at a private fundraiser.
Romney thinks Obama supporters are living off of state handouts, and he is probably right for about 10-15 percent of them... but it's that other 85-90 percent of Democrats that go to work and participate in the economy that he should be trying to get to vote for him! Insulting potential voters is most likely not the wisest strategy, and you know Obama will be all over this in the debates. Remember Regan Democrats? That's what he needs to win. Good luck with this one, Mittens.

to no taxes and only spending cuts, this is simply put not real.
no i fully well realize that 49 million americans are on some sort of government
assistance, what you do not understand is they are there because of a long and very damaging economic downturn, they are not there on a permanment basis
but rather a temporary one. you make the assumpation these people are lazy and do not want to find work, that is wrong and a collsasl misread of the situation.
you can dance around this for a while but in the end it will catch up.
there are some that want to live on government assistance but they are in the minority and you know this. yes the right likes to over hype the number but the facts are clear. one should also make a distinction between people that are
on some sort of government assistance for reasons that pertain to the economic collapse and those that want to stay on government assistance.
also what about senoirs, i do not believe for a second that these people
consider themselves lazy, they are on government assistance such as medicare and social security. yet these people make up a large part of the 47% that romney was talking about. you can try to twist his words but in the end he was pretty clear.
i do nt consider it to be government assistance either.
actually when it comes to both programs not only has the government taken from these programs but so has the general public and much larger dollar amounts than you or i would think possible.
as to your last sentance when you said we gambled away your money
the first thing that came to my mind was wall street, how much the gambled away.
that money is there, however wall street has no such idea and will put that money in credit default swaps and steal it and then tell everyone
that they lost it all and we are so sorry. while the laugh all the way to the bank. fixing social security is easy lift the cap or raise it, problem solved. the problems are much harder and far more complicated.

i work two jobs AND take care of my father 24/7... no handouts... look forward to social security and mediare WHICH I HAVE PAID INTO MY ENTIRE WORKING LIFE when it is my time.... I'm only 60... i have a few years left. so I am NOT one of the "victims"... i work just like the rest of America!
and when I lost a kidney and had been paying health insurance premiums for 10 years and spent two weeks in the hospital it was the INSURANCE company that screwed me out of $115,00. i'll be paying that off for the rest of my life. I didn't ask for government subsidy like big oil or wall street. National Health Care will actually help me with any future issues I might have along the way.....
