Romney: "The First Victim Of An Obama Campaign Is The Truth": Do You Trust President Obama?

The 2012 election season has shifted from primary politics to the general election. Summer has nearly ended and the Olympics finished. The media will now set their sites on the candidates. General elections generally sours the public as they suffer the endless cycles of attack ads.

Politicians and their campaign managers know that negative ads work. Nobody took President Clinton seriously when he promised to end the politics of personal destruction -- then began destroying the reputation of special prosecutor Kenneth Starr, victim Paula Jones and witnesses Linda Tripp and Monica Lewinsky.

Presidential candidate Mitt Romney accused President Obama of sacrificing the truth for a political victory in 2012. Romney said, "It seems that the first victim of an Obama campaign is the truth. It has been sad and disappointing." Romney said this in response to the attack ads against him claiming that Romney would raise taxes. Romney finished with, "We're going to get this economy going, and Mr. President stop saying something that's not the truth."

REALCLEARPOLITICS.COM reports:
Question: Thank you, Governor. When my son's boss asked why he wanted the day off, he said I get a chance to see Romney and Ryan. He said, 'You mean that guy that wants to raise taxes.' So what are you going to do to combat the lies that the leftists are telling about you?

Romney: Thank you. It seems that the first victim of an Obama campaign is the truth. It has been sad and disappointing. Frankly, you know, when I became the presumptive nominee, the president called me and congratulated me on becoming the presumptive nominee, and said that America deserves an honest debate about the future course of the country, and I agreed.

I'm waiting to hear him begin that, because all we've heard so far is one attack after the other. And frankly they're typically not honest. There may be one in there that is. I keep looking for it, but it's been a disappointment.

Because he paid for votes in 2008, his 900 + executive orders that are marxist-based, because he visited "57" states and wasn't sure which ones he missed, vacationed with my money and stayed on the golf course instead of sitting at the Oval Office, hired more staff for his wife who cannot practice law any more in Illinios (why??) and he lies, lies, lies.

The truth, eh? What's the truth about Romney's taxes? What's the truth about his work with Bain? What's the truth about his off-shore bank accounts? What's the truth about his outsourcing of American jobs? And he's the one bringing up the matter of "truth." Wake up, Mitt the hypocrite. You're as transparent as a fog bank.

It's Willard Romney that I don't trust. When he comes out with a political ad with three different versions accusing President Obama of doing away with the required work for welfare program, it's obvious that he is lying, and at the end of the ads he says "I'm Mitt Romney and I approve this message". He should be saying 'I'm Mitt Romney and I approve this lie'.

Alright. I trust President Obama because EVERYTHING he has done as President was done for the good of the country, and not done for the good of the special interests and the selected few. This is the opposite of what the Republicans have been doing in the last thirteen years, and even in the last thirty-one years, starting with some of Ronald Reagan's policies. If you want specifics, I'll be happy to list them.

I followed his first campaign very closely and witnessed the fake fainters and that drama. I noticed that his campaign was based upon lies. He would tell one group something and then retract it with the next group and spew another lie. Unfortunately too many were sucked up in the "free" promises and failed to realize that nothing is free. Now he has burdened us with hopeless change and he needs to go before he does anymore harm to our nation.

Thank you for being completely "free" of facts. Why don't you take an honest look at how the Republicans got us into this mess? How about the "free" Bush wars? - all while cutting taxes - now that's patriotic! And Bush cutting programs for vets too. Iran War under false pretenses - how many killed? Or perhaps you're fond of the Bush Medicare pharmaceutical giveaway (courtesy of taxpayers) creating the famous doughnut hole? This while our competitors in other countries get the same pharmaceuticals at a significantly lower price. I suppose you're especially fond of Republican sponsored deregulation of Wall Street while the middle class gets screwed. Maybe you're favorite is Bush spying on fellow American citizens? - so much for small government. Who got Bin Laden?? I suppose you've bought the "trickle down" fable despite a shred of evidence - Bush private sector jobs created in 8 yrs less than Obama. Bush did create a lot of public jobs, while under Obama, public sector jobs have declined. I could go on and on and on... but you clearly are not interested in anything other than parroting what Karl Rove and Lindbag tell you to think and spout.

Your last sentence is non-sensical. Maybe your trying to comment what Karl wants you to say about healthcare reform. I guess you think saving lives (Harvard and New England Journal of Medicine) and reducing costs (see CBO and other numerous other non-partisan analyses) is bad for this country. Hopefully you and your family don't get sick and have your insurance cancelled. Even conservatives in every other developed country wouldn't give up their healthcare.

Maybe you should consider how your man Romney (and Ryan for that matter) "tell one group something and then retract it with the next group and spew another lie." Its all on tape, and really really clear.... You attack O'Bama for not getting us out of this mess fast enough? Why would anyone in their right mind choose the same Republican policies again that got us into this mess in the first place?

Once again blame Bush. You conveniently forget that in the last two years of the Bush Administration the House and the Senate had a democrat majority. If Bush was so bad why didn't the dems stop him??? My last sentence is correct. BO is digging his cesspool deeper and deeper due to his stupidity as to how to govern. I do not listen to either of the men you mentioned.

It does not take a rocket scientist to understand the failed policies in DC and the three stooges that are the problem, Balmy, Nasty and Scarey. Why couldn't Balmy do anything in his first two years? He had the House and the Senate. All he could do was manipulate the health care mess and that hopefully will be edited and greatly underfunded when Romney takes over.

Who got bin Lauden??? The Navy Seals! Not Balmy. All he did was say okay and this only after he had the assurance that he would not be blamed if it went down. The plan had been in effect and perfected for 10 years prior. It started in the Clinton administration and continued in the Bush administration.

It will cost you more than you are paying but will give you less care. You go ahead and embrace the failed Balmy regime and should he win you will get your socialism and see how it works out for you. You might look at Greece to get your answers.

Tell me what private sector jobs Balmy created? He donated taxpayers' money to the failed green industries which were going or soon to be bankrupt. It was nothing more that a campaign payoff to the owners.

How about his running to Brazil and donating $2 billion dollars for deep horizon oil drilling instead of America. By so doing he left 27,000 oil rig workers unemployed. He apparently doesn't think much of his fellow countrymen to stab them in the back like this.

Depends on which Romney you're talking about.

1.. True, though so did most everyone else.. Between them, only Obama supported limiting the Bonuses ceos rewarded themselves with with our bailout money.
    2. No he was against them after he was for them.
    3. Mitt Romney also said he would have let them fail... then he said it was his idea... after shaking the etch a sketch that is his moral and economic compass.
    4. Neither candidate could possibly do that.
    5. Um no Obama has increased spending less than any president since Eisenhower. What big spending track record?
6.-11 Yes, but then no major candidate is going to get rid of the Federal Reserve. Only one candidate has introduced ANY wal st reform bills however.
12 What? Huh? What "universal health care?" Single payer was "off the table" according to Obama and his hr reform centers around private insurance companies. We can only wish either of them supported universal health care.
