McKinney police investigating Obama yard sign defaced with racial slurs



A President Obama yard sign that was
found found defaced is stirring up a lot of debate in McKinney and on
Internet discussion boards.

McKinney resident Cassy Zobel, who runs a liberal feminist blog called Blue Chick in a Red Barn,
says she woke up last Friday to a neighbor knocking on her door and
holding her Obama/Biden sign, which had been defaced with racist slurs
about Obama on one side and pro-Republican messages on the other.

On a blog posting,
Zobel said she will be installing cameras and has contacted McKinney
police. McKinney police spokesman Mark Moyle confirmed that
investigators are looking into the case but had no further details.

Across
the Internet, the story is stirring up debates about racism in Texas.
Others are accusing Zobel of defacing her own sign as a stunt.
Commenters at Raw Story discuss the racist natures of Texans, while the top comment on a Reddit discussion thread notes the peculiar handwriting and coincidences.

Four years ago a College Station woman admitted to making up a story about a mugger carving a “B” into her face for Barack Obama.

    that what one twisted racist did is endemic to the entire presidential race, or to the sort of campaign being run by the candidate that the above racist prefers.

    There will be bad/low class behavior from supporters on BOTH sides before this is all over.

    But BOTH sides will cease upon such incidents and try to paint the entire other party/candidate/campaign up to be like minded.

    Now.....anyone care to make bets on which side will try that more, and which less?....

    If Al Sharpton is any indicator, hoaxes and false accusations are their cup of tea. Knowing Collin County as I do-which is primarily conservative-I think this is a method of garnering media attention and sympathy.. It could also just be kids-which in this case is more likely vandalism rather than political censorship.

    It might be true, there are a lot of stupid, ignorant people out there that could write stuff on other people's signs to promote their agendas..... then again, there are a lot of stupid, ignorant people who could write that kind of garbage on their own signs to try to rally their side and promote their agendas.     My thoughts on the matter are that there will be people on both sides of the political spectrum who will consider race as a point when it comes to voting. there have been many African American, whether they be celebrities or your average joe, who have made their points as to who their voting for per the race of the candidates. These sentiments on both sides are extremely uneducated and uncalled for.
