The Obama Administration tipped their hand early on in regards to this issue, and dropped a concert grand piano sized whopper on it with fast and furious. The NRA is not going all out campaigning against Obama without reason.

Obama denied wanting to take away 2nd amendment rights during the campaign in 08 but then someone found a survey he did earlier that said he was for gun control.. This administration is presently working on gun control being implemented through the UN, advocating the usurption of power from the people and the Constitution.. another example of his anti-American stance on issues.

I believe, from some of bama's recent quotes, that there are many things he plans on putting into place if he gets re elected.
As a senator in illinois, he voted to ban guns in chicago. Some in his group believe the second amendment only refers to the military. I have heard that soros is buying up gun corporations. Hmmmm? What could that mean.
Yes, I believe that if bama had a snow balls chance in hell, he'd try to take your guns.

    Really?

    Just consider ...

Obama loaded his administration with anti-gun zealots bent on destroying our Second Amendment freedoms.

With the help of his secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, Obama made the U.S. an active partner to the U.N. gun-ban treaty. The U.N. will unveil this unmitigated attack on our sovereignty this summer and the Obama administration has vowed to implement it.

Obama appointed two anti-Second Amendment Supreme Court justices and continues to flood our lower courts with dozens of anti-gun, activist judges.

With the help of his attorney general, Eric Holder, Obama led a campaign to demonize law-abiding gun owners, claiming our Second Amendment rights were to blame for drug violence in Mexico. And in fact, emails recently released by the Justice Department prove that operation "Fast and Furious" was a deliberate attempt to build the case for a gun-control agenda.

Obama unilaterally imposed gun registration in four border states — requiring gun dealers to register the sales of any law-abiding citizen who purchases more than one semi-automatic rifle within one week.

Him Hillary and Holder are all after guns. They want to do what was done in Germany, Russia, Australia and many other nations, take them away so you have to submit to them. The only problem here are two things, 80 million gun owners and the 2nd amendment. So far Obama has side stepped the constitution and 3 equal branches of government and has been growing his power to override the other two branches. I back the NRA because if you don't we have nothing to keep the 2nd amendment as it is and without the 2nd you cannot protect the 1st amendment rights. Anyone who thinks this guy isn't going to drive hard to stop the 2nd amendment vote for him, because in the next 4 years you will find that he and this administration have taken it all away.

40% of all guns are sold without a background check. Sensible laws like 10 round loader clips, microstamped shell casings do not stop people from protecting themselves but do help catch criminals and straw buyers.

Much BS comes from the NRA supporters. 10 point rebuttal of BS follows.

    1. Ban the use of firearms for home self defense is nonsense. A shotgun can be purchased anywhere in the 50 states with a clean record.

    2. Pass federal laws banning right to carry more nonsense with not a single bill that proposed it.

    3. Ban the manufacture, sales, possession of handguns when every state allows for their purchase and no law proposed to end it.

    4. Close down 90% of the gun shops more idiocy when gun shows needing background checks is proposed never stores that do the background checks.

    5. High velocity bullets are used to kill cops, not for game or sport shooting.

    6. Increase federal taxes on firearms and ammunition would allow the funding of databases to stop the Jared Loughners from buying the same. No funding for a database is the same as having no database at all.

    7. Restore voting rights of those convicted gun offenses is up to the states like it always has been. Some allow it after time served.

    8. Expand the Clinton semi-auto ban to include millions of more firearms. The Brady 10 round clip is a sensible protection against mass killing. No one hunts with an AK47 with 30 rounds, it only purpose is to kill many people.

    9. Mandate a government issued license to purchase a firearm. The 2nd amendment is clear on states regulating their militias. It is up to the state to decide whom is in their militia (armed).

    10. Judges can't take away 2nd amendment rights unless congress passes an amendment to rescind the second amendment, BS in the extreme.
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Obama administration officials are deliberately keeping gun owners in the dark about the president's gun-control agenda as we head into next year's national election, because administration officials know that when NRA members and gun owners show up at the polls en masse, anti-gun candidates lose.

The Obama campaign's strategy goes like this:

    1.Neutralize gun owners and NRA members as a political force in the upcoming national election by pretending to be pro-gun or at least not focused on pushing a gun-control agenda;

    2.With gun owners neutralized, Obama will be able to win the election. After the president is re-elected, he won't have to answer to voters because he won't have to face another re-election battle;

3.Launch a full-scale, all-out assault to rip the Second Amendment out of the Bill of Rights through legislation, litigation, regulation, executive orders and international treaties — in short, every lever of power at the administration's disposal.

Barack Obama spent his entire political career proudly and publicly pushing for the most radical anti-gun positions you can imagine. He endorsed a total ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns. He opposed right-to-carry laws. He voted to ban nearly all commonly used hunting-rifle ammunition.

Obama administration officials are deliberately keeping gun owners in the dark about the president's gun-control agenda as we head into next year's national election, because administration officials know that when NRA members and gun owners show up at the polls en masse, anti-gun candidates lose.

During the presidential primary debates, Obama even vowed to re-impose the discredited Clinton gun ban, which banned many commonly owned firearms used for hunting and self-defense.

Obama hasn't had a sudden change of heart; rather, he's making a purely political calculation by staying quiet on the gun issue until the time is right. In the meantime, he's gearing up for his second-term assault on the Second Amendment in a number of ways.

Obama unilaterally imposed gun registration in four border states — requiring gun dealers to register the sales of any law-abiding citizen who purchases more than one semi-automatic rifle within one week.

It isn't hard to see the writing on the wall. The actions that President Obama has taken so far in his presidency clearly show his disdain for the Second Amendment and hint at his plan to gut our firearm freedoms in his second term.

But the key to President Obama's strategy is keeping gun owners complacent for now.

After all, Obama knows what happened in 1994, when the politicians who voted for Clinton's gun ban were swept out of Congress. Even Clinton admitted the NRA was the reason Democrats lost their 40-year lock on control of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Obama saw what happened in 2000, when Al Gore built his campaign on a platform of gun control and then watched as the NRA and gun owners derailed Gore in the battleground states of Arkansas, West Virginia and even his home state of Tennessee — costing him the White House.

Obama administration officials know that it's good politics to avoid making gun control a public issue. They hope that they can lull gun owners into a false sense of security and then play us for fools in the 2012 election. NRA members, gun owners and liberty-minded Americans should not be fooled. Next year's presidential election will be a referendum on our freedom.

You crack me up. 10 round clips! WTF!!!! You can break it down to 1 round clips but it only takes 1 second to drop a clip and slap in another. Stupid ass legislation solves nothing. Let's put criminals in jail where they belong and stop worrying about what a legal person has, can buy or what they want. We waste all this time and thought about restricting the honest joe when we should be enforcing the laws on the books. You liberals just plain as day don't get it. Restricting me from owning any particular weapon, clips or slugs doesn't do a damn thing but screw with the honest people that don't break the law. Criminals are going to get guns from foreign countries or Holder and company no matter how you restrict honest law abiding people. Let's get away from the head in your ass stupidity and actually do something like screw with the bad guys. The Democratic party is the biggest joke on this
    planet, time to think.

This Administration has not taken any major steps on gun control. YET. Several behind the scene actions have clearly shown it's stance on the issue. Fast & Furious/Operation Gunrunner and the UN Small Arms Treaty are two examples.

If your truely want to see what President Obama's actual opinion/stance on guns is to look at his voting track record while in the Senate. Time after time he voted to against the 2nd Amendment. Please look it up.

The only two things that have prevented this Administration from pushing hard on Gun Rights are: 1) He wants a 2nd term and 2) the Blue Dog Democrats. If he gets re-elected the gloves come off. Watch out.

yes how about the un gun treaty, which in its present form would in fact have a hugh impact on our 2nd ammendment rights. How behind the secnes on banding bullets with lead projectable to stainless which would increase the cost so much that people couldn't could not afford to buy. It was dropped due to pressure from congress and several gun rights organizations. How about obamanut telling the president of mexico that if he could he would have more gun control but couldn't get through congress. And the biggest of them all was fast and furious, which intent was to place the blame of selling weapons to the cartel by gun dealers in texas, airzonia, new mexico and calif. How about requiring all gun dealers in the states i mention to notify bureau of alcohol and firearms of anyone purchasing more than 3 firearms per week.

The first on is a untrue conspiracy theory. The UN laws can not over ride our own. It is only few types of guns that have to be reported , and that does not take away your right to buy said guns.

I am not sure what you were getting about the bullets issue. But as of right now you can still by bullets for your gun. And the operation that you wrote about was not trying to get guns away from Americans .

the hell it wasn't fast and furious was all about attacking those gun dealers, but it backfired. About the UN gun treaty if it is sign by obamanut and is ratified by the senate it would affect our 2nd ammendment. You have to remember that obamanut knows he cannot gun control throught congress so his next big effort is through the UN. He is the only president that is trying to force gun control on the american people through the UN. All other presidents refused.
