Romney is going to make pitch to black voters at NAACP’s annual meeting. How do you think that will go?

bob 2012/07/11 14:20:16
Recent polling reveals Romney has virtually no hope of making major inroads with the black community before this November
Not well!
Swimmingly!!
Mitt Romney is committed to competing in the black community despite the odd
I don’t believe the black community will buy what Romney is selling
Romney’s plan to produce more jobs for African-Americans is to put them to work those farmer’s fields and other jobs vacated by those illegal aliens.
After Romney privitizes schools, The black childern will become janitors to pay for their schooling.
Romney will explain his voter supression policies to the NAACP

Blacks vote black no matter how bad their guy is. Marion Barry, Charlie Rangel, Maxine Waters, Jefferson, to name a few. Morals, values, jobs don't appear to be of concern to a lot of blacks.
There is hope though, when the black churches are saying they have had enough of the
regime of 0 and his policies.

Just because someone's skin color is darker does not mean they don't think for themselves and just lockstep vote for Obama. I dislike Romney, but he has as much a right and even an obligation to present his stance to the NAACP as anyone else. The NAACP members have a right to listen. Apparently, the NAACP wants to hear what Romney has to say as they invited him to speak. Polls like this are insulting to people of color and to the democratic process.

He shaveoff a few votes but that's it. Black racism will still compel blacks to vote for the black guy because he's black.

Your comment is racist in and of itself. Believe it or not, there are a lot of Reps who are people of color. I think they are terribly misguided but they do think for themselves. It would be nice if we would just leave color/race/ whatever out of this entire election and just look at issues. PEOPLE - no matter their color/background - have to weigh all of the issues and make their choice in the voting booth accordingly.

I agree racism should not be a factor, but sadly it is. It's also promoted by race pimps like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. When a black person says I voting for Obama because he's black, it's not hard to connect the dots.

One could say the same for some white people regarding not voting for Obama because of the color of his skin. Hence, it's just plain old stupid to even bring up. I'll not respond to this crap anymore. I can't believe I'm even giving this stinking topic my time...

Let's clear the air; 98% didn't vote for Obama number one, so you and the others are stretching it. 95% voted for Obama and 90% of Black voters usually vote Democrat; 92% voted for Al Gore, 90% for Clinton and so on.

In addition only about 65% out of 42 million voted; so out of that 65%, 95% voted for Obama. Nice try, but by you desperately painting a false picture that actually shows how racist you are.

No; they show that the claim of Black Americans being racist is false. The Republican Party isn't any different from the Democrats; all lip service. Both parties practice Crony Capitalism and govern as an Oligarchy instead of a Republic with economic Capitalism.

since blacks have overwhelmingly voted democrat for decades, it's pure conjecture that they would vote for the democratic candidate just because he's black. How do you know they're not voting as they usually do: for the democrat because they believe the democrats' ideology
and that it wouldn't matter if the guy was black or white?

In the first place, if Romney is invited I see no reason he should not go. To not go would be rude and just fuel the Left-Wingnut candle.

Second, If the NAACP wants to invite Romney I should at least hope they want to hear what he has to say. if they plan to stick fingers in their ears while he speaks that would have a back lash on themselves as it's being reported that black people in general are having a worse go of things economicly in spite of having supported the first half black president.

Third, they do have to make a choice between Romney and Obama, and even if they have already made their minds up they do have to appear to be serious at being open.

Just because they claim to represent all Black people doesn't mean they can read all Black peoples minds.

Look to the 29 billion dollars of "green energy" grants handed out to companies in Finland, Mexico, Japan, etc. For an Obama supporter you sure are ignorant, Oh that is right you would have to be to support this vapid suit.

    Investigative Reporting Workshop? OK.

Funding for projects to help redress global climate change is so important that it needs to go the most promising research institutions, no matter what country they are found in. It is a global problem and needs a global solution. That is NOT outsourcing.
