Mannequin Romney is out selling the same snake oil that Bush sold us for 8 years while the economy unraveled. A vote for Romney is a vote for a deeper recession, and further collapse of the middle class. Don't be a Mittiot! Romniot

Refusal to look the TRUTH in the face is mark of a coward. You are just afraid to face it so you would rather stay ignorant of history and insult people like me who personally experienced it. The other alternative is that you don't mind what the marxists did in 20th century as long as they win in 21st even at the cost of mass murder orders of magnitude greater than the one from the past. Don't bet that you will be on top. The revolution devours its own as Danton and Robespierre had found out in French Revolution as Lenin and Trotsky found out in bolshevik revolution.

Sorry I don't live in the past, and no marxism is going on in this country if you check the profits of the Fortune 500 companies. Pure unbridled corrupt capitalism is being allowed by Congress bribed by the corporate lobbyists.

You refuse to learn from the past. Based on your comments you support OWS and obama and they support communism. This country is not communist but you would like it to be.

You remain delusional. Same song, second verse. Do you have your bomb shelter ready? The only dangerous communists are in Russia, North Korea, and China with nukes.

And those here are not dangerous? I suppose they are not -- yet,... since they do not have the total power they need to be dangerous.

The Fascist belong on the Left between Communist and Liberal. Like to the immediate right of Communist.
Marx's theories formed the basis for both Communism and Fascism/Nazism.

Um Russia isn't Communist. Hasn't been since 1992. And their economy is absolutely in shambles now they're run by gangsters. In other words you're more right than you know.

Right. Russia is not communist since 1992 but it was since 1917 until 1992. The gangsters that run Russian economy now are mostly former high ranking communist officials.

Sweden: From Capitalist Success to Welfare-State Sclerosis
    http://www.cato.org/publicati...
This was in 1991 and the things are going downhill from that time.
"Sweden's inflation rate (today around 10 percent) has for some time been twice as high as that of its main competitors. For a long time Sweden had a relatively low unemployment rate (1.5 to 2.5 percent), but it has recently risen to 3.5 percent."

"Newly elected President of the Swedish Trade Union Confederation Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson: “We will fight the Government for full employment!” 2012/05/28

“You have to call a spade a spade. We have mass unemployment in Sweden. Our positive work first principle has been replaced by a negative one. It is not based on people’s will to work, it is based on people’s fear of unemployment or illness. "
Not all is rosy in Sweden is it?

Unemployment in Sweden is now around 8% which somewhat better than in US where some states have it between 10% to 15% but is three times as it was in 1991.

In my opinion Swedish style socialism survives as long as it does because it has small population count on a large territory. Things are changing rapidly as the immigration from third world countries increases and becomes a burden on the welfare state.
  • Marek SW 2012/06/17 03:05:47

To answer your question directly. NO, Sweden is not communist. Its social programs are in fact supported by capitalist system that is freer than that in the USA.
Don't make mistake of assuming that Swedish Socialists are the same ideologically as American socialists and communists.

In Sweden and Denmark they have strong worker protection, universal health care, a strong public education, low ceo pay (comparatively) and higher corporate taxes, yet they have better test scores, lower infant mortality rates, higher standards of living (which they do for longer lifespans) and are better in any measurable way for most of their people. They don't have death camps and they're not marching with Stalin to Gulags... Your argument is not valid.

So is Greece, Spain and Italy and they have to bailed out time and again. It works until such time that nations like Germany will eventually run out of money and patience. When the economy in Europe collapse because American economy collapses or they do first and pull us under. things may go down to hell quickly. The Greeks had been bailed out because they were on the verge of massive civil unrest.

While Marek may have erred in his stats, because that is the lower end of the estimates on the number killed by the Communists in the 1900s. 200 million killed by the Commies is more accurate.

I'm not sure I agree with Romney, but they say he has the Midas touch and everything he does becomes successful. It's worth a shot we could have him or 4 more years of what we have now
