Romney campaign raises $1 million in three hours after Obamacare decision

maggiemay 2012/06/28 18:22:53

The Romney campaign raised $1 million dollars in the three hours
immediately following the Supreme Court decision to uphold President
Barack Obama’s health care reform law, according to a campaign
spokesperson’s tweet.

Romney campaign spokesperson Andrea Saul tweeted: “Just crossed $1
million raised for @MittRomney since SCOTUS decision. #FullRepeal.”

The tweet was sent at 1:25 p.m. The Supreme Court decision was handed down around 10:20 a.m.

The massive fundraising haul indicates that the court decision could
galvanize Republicans, ultimately helping them, in spite of the court
not ruling in their favor.

This was a sad day for my family. Todays ruling by the Supreme Court was like death sentence for my husband. A few years ago he had a pace maker put in, otherwise he is in good health. During his 6 month checkups, the technician and representive of the pace maker that was put in my husband, stated that under the new Obamacare regulations my husband will be too old to recieve another pacemaker or to replace the battery when it goes.

My husband's heart doctor has hinted that his pacemaker is working but is starting to show signs it will go out. If the pacemaker goes before Obamacare is fully implemented, then it can be replaced. If the replacement can not be justified before the healthcare law fully takes effect, my husband will have to go without and die. It does not matter if we sold everything we have to pay for the operation, it will be unavailable to my husband. So here we wait, ironically hoping that it will go out soon so that my husband has a chance of having it replaced. Meanwhile, we try to downplay was has happened today with our children, because we don't want them worried to death that they may be losing thier father in the next couple of years.

Now we will have taxation with denied services.

    no thanks obamacare

I think so, too. Two guys I work with who are avowed RP supporters both told me out on the smoke deck they're voting for Romney. This snapped both of them out of the little fog they were in.

Do you really think that the Supreme Court of the land read and analyzed the 2700 + page bill? Realized all the loopholes and what the actual interpretation of this bill really means? Law is open for interpretation for sure and this bill was presented and still never disclosed in its entirety unless you are a legal genius can you make heads or tales of the monstrosity bill which concerns so many people across this country. Just about everyone. Whether or not it is Constitutional or not should have dissected page by page. So portions may have been good and other parts not so grand.

Rather than throw out our present healthcare system and throw the baby out with the bath water we really should have addressed reforming present healthcare system and look into the costs of coverage, prescriptions, hospital care and testing, long term care etc...

It is too bad that our government cannot and has not realized that American healthcare is one of the best on the planet in technology, successful surgeries and the cutting edge of medicine. The problem is the cost and the nearly impossible task to monitor the excessive cost draining the average person.

Therefore we look toward the government as the food stamp program to take care of everyone and then the abuse starts. We know how that...

Therefore we look toward the government as the food stamp program to take care of everyone and then the abuse starts. We know how that works with all the loopholes.

Socializing medicine will chase many otherwise talented and ingenius people to even want to become doctors or enter into the nursng program compromising the quality of care received in a timely fashion for sure.

Handing healthcare over to our Federal government is dissterous move in my opinion

They even said they did not read it. Who in the f**k can our highest court in America rule on something they haven't even read and understand? Sounds as if we have a bunch of Pelosi clones on the bench. "We need to pass this too see what's

Glad you recognize the same. It is really all about corruption, power and money, not what is exactly for the people because it maintains helplessness and that is what they really like. Fight back? Hmm? Many feel they cannot under these circumstances

Oh yes I remember very well when he said it. I was trying to keep my heat set at 60 to save on the fuel bill when we were in Pennsylvania in the middle of winter. Have you ever been back east in the winter? Just about froze to death, and I was still paying close to $300 a month for Fuel Oil.
I would love to send my energy bill to Obama.

That's pretty impressive since Obamacare was modeled after Romneycare in the first place. I guess you can have your cake and eat it too. If Republicans are truly concerned about the state of healthcare in this nation they would work hard to have an alternative system that was more than just some free market rant.

First, Romney was confronted by a totally Democratic legislature in Mass. I give him credit for even surviving.

...and I do not believe that the health care law in Mass included such things as a tax on selling expensive houses and a requirement that cattle farmers count the number of bushels of manure that their cattle produce.

The Republicans do have a plan (have had one all along) that was not just some free market rant. Look it up.
