Romney assails Obama on national security

- Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney harshly criticized President Obama's national security strategy yesterday, chastising him for spending billions of dollars to expand social programs at the expense of the military budget, and accusing him of an overseas "tour of apology" that will only embolden violent anti-American extremists.

In a hard-hitting speech designed to build his credentials as commander in chief before a possible second presidential run in 2012, Romney said Obama has made a "grave miscalculation" with budget cuts to a strategic missile defense system that would protect the nation and its allies from nuclear threats.

"Backing away from missile defense and depleting the defense budget to fund new social programs, particularly in the face of global turmoil, would put America and Americans at risk," Romney said, echoing former vice president Dick Cheney's warnings.... Read full article »

None of what you listed has anything to do with the GOP. There's a long list of what you don't get. Even if you had another 40 years to get it.

typical conservative always thinks that if we cut anything in the defense budget than we are weakening this country.
no wonder conservatives cannot win an election these days.
they keep going back to well every time.

I think he see's an opportunity to become the leader of the GOP. Considering they only have; media blowhard pundits.

I'm hoping like hell he runs again, it's the religious base that will support him. Oh Please, pick Sarah as your running mate Mitt. Again, Rep's please, put the Dominionists in as your choice.... as the rest of the world moves forward!

I have never been as proud to associate myself with a political party than I am now. The Progressives are motivated, tech savvay, forward thinking...and ORGAINIZED!
The groups I was involved with during the campaign, are still up and working as hard as ever!!! it's amazing what we are accomplishing. Momentum its Wonderful.
    They simply don't have it!

Ive yet to decide if I want Obama to run again, I probably will not decide until closer to the end of his term, regardless i wouldnt vote for Palin nor Mitt i'll vote for the best candidate for the country as a whole regardless of which party they belong to and Palin nor Mitt fit that criteria. I agree if thats the best the GOP has to offer than they in serious trouble before they even begin.

Just like the republicians to shoot pot shots at the President. Haven't we learned from the last 8 years that the republicians know crap about our national security? Don't give me that crap that we haven't gotton an attack on our soil since 911. We have worsen our national security under the rule of the republicians, the right. And what are they trying to doing? The republicians are trying to place the blame on the new administration. It's like when we were kids. There was always that kid that got away with all the bad things he did by blaming the innocent. Don't let it happen anymore we are smarter as a people to sit here and listen to this rubish.

Alternative viewpoint? This is not an "alternative viewpoint". It's the same viewpoint of Cheney, Limbaugh...etc...the hard right. Rather then focus on what he can do to help this country 173 days after the election of the new administration, he's plotting to full fill his own agenda. His agenda to be able to tell mommy and daddy he was President. Romney never cared about the people. The dude put 40 million of his own money into his last campaign and it was still crappy. He is not running for the people, he is running for self accomplishment.

    You're right ....Romney has money.
Wealth and enriching himself is what Obama is about....self accomplishment.
Handing over America to it enemies....all important things.

We are all about enriching ourselves. Handing over America to its citizens is what the Obama administration is all about. You seem to like it better when government took away your rights and spied on you. Maybe you should go live in North Korea. I think a dictatorship style government would better fit your life style. If you aren't feared out your shorts you don't know how to act.

Obama is a muslim plain and simple! Who's side do you really think he's on? Now the government owns GM. Looks like Socialism is alive and well here. Gee, Nazi Germany where socialism was in control and the government owned everything. See any paralels yet? Obama is out to destroy us and doing a good job of it!

Man you need help. It's as simply as that. You have so much hate in you, I'm surprised you can type. You talk of Nazi Germany and how bad they were, but the way you talk you sound like you knew hitler personally and that you guys were the best of friends.
