Roberts slaps down politics and makes us all focus on giving something a try before howling.....

The healthcare ruling wasn't a win or a loss. Dems don't need to see it as a total win, and repubs don't need to see it as a total loss.

The can has been kicked down the road a bit, to allow the system to get in place and run for a while. Since none of us have crystal balls, is there anything wrong with trying out something that was engineered by a republican think tank, for 5-10 years? If something is allowed to play out for a decade, does that mean it lasts forever? Nope.

Roberts basically extricated the Supreme Court from the argument and placed much of the deciding on the states. The law will remain; the fullness of the law kicks in in 2 years and then we can all sit and wait and observe.

It may prove better than what we had before; it may not.
But what's wrong with giving it a chance?

If it doesn't work, states will get it relegislated.
I don't know why people see everything black and white. Aren't there many things in history that have evolved over time? Some got cancelled and some got kept.

I see today's decision as a chance for us all to quit seeing it as a win or loss, but an opportunity to stop being premature and wait and see....
You!

"Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience... To be 'cured' against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level with those who have not yet reached the age of reason... You start being 'kind' to people before you have considered their rights, and then force upon them supposed kindnesses which they in fact had a right to refuse, and finally kindnesses which no one but you will recognize as kindnesses and which the recipient will feel as abominable cruelties."
    - C.S. Lewis.

I agree. I am leery ofcourse, but ima guy, im always leery of change, but when a system doesnt work...it would be stupid to NOT try a new one. So lets try this new one. If it works good, if it doesnt, well, rather than say "I told you so" Think of a better alternative.
