I've read that Ahmadinejad has a genuine fear of Iranian society and of Mousavi and Rafsanjani. The level of tension between them has gone beyond civil limits and Ahmadinejad will try to have them imprisoned and killed. Already, many people have lost their lives.

I grew up with a lot of Persians and know that they want to return to a better country -- a country without Mullahs controlling a violent and oppressive regime led by a crazy thug who wants to acquire nuclear weapons to attack Western countries.

I hope that this civil unrest could lead to a change in the government of Iran. Not many revolutions happen peacefully, and sadly that means people lose their lives. But I hope that those that have already lost their lives in this widespread violence haven't lost their lives for nothing. I hope that it does bring about Hope and Change for the people of Iran.

I don't think that the protestors are the ones being violent, they are the ones that violence are being perpetrated upon.

I guess you can say I support the Iranian people, but from a distance...I feel we (the US) as a nation should not get involved....the people of Iran need to make a stand for themselves and win their freedom.....

Personal freedoms can never be unjustly deafened no matter what the clerics and the old world Iran try to do. The established order will try to appease those wanting change yet at costs to those that seek change. I do believe that the Iranian people will expose the fradulant vote count and have to figure out a way to appease those that protest. The outcome may be better in letting the Iranian people the true feeedom to decide rather if Israel was forced to bomb their facilities in the coming future to maintain there existence under the current Iranian regime. Time will tell ..but just as in IRaQ once change came the oppressive fractions and the new order caused much more civil strife. Followers of Sadam found themselves on the outside , that means the revolutionary guard of Iran will be fighting for their survival as they are the privledged there and will do anything to keep their entitlements as the only means familiar with them being threats and violence. I sense with continued disobedience there could be bloody uprisings throughout the country sprung forth from the killing of innocent protesters that could tip the scale.

Maybe it will show Americans how and what to do if we have to challenge the government that is encroaching upon our freedoms. We have to fight to keep what we got, and this time the enemy is within. . .

I feel desperately sorry for the people of Iran. Unfortunately I think that this man has the country in a vice like grip supported by the Ayatollah and I'm afraid that it will take a major revolution to get this maniac from his seat of power. I do hope the people succeed in electing the President they want.

at this point in Iranian politics, I don't think peaceful protests matter any longer. Voting has proven to be pointless for the reformers. Harsh action is the only tool they have at the moment to achieve freedom from the current Iranian regime.

I wish the Iranian people the best.

A very good point, considering the iranians currently have a very harsh dictator on their hands. THis will be us in 3.5 years trying to get rid of obammie.

The answer options do not allow me to answer the poll question.

The riots in Iran, caused by the possibility of election fraud, has a tremendous impact on Iran and the entire region. Anytime voters feel as though their vote is a waste of time it undermines the process of free elections.

The events in Iran will deter voters, in other Middle Eastern nations, from participating in the election process in their own countries. The civil unrest in Iran will be used as just another reason for other nations to not hold public elections.

Like us, here, with acorn and obammie out registering and voting with dead people and homeless folks selling their vote for cigarettes? Yeah, I feel like my vote didn't count-I only got to vote once.

As a Patriotic American who loves America and our way of life, I want other nations to have what we have. From what I am seeing, the young people in Iran want to be free from the oppression they are under in their country.

What have I learned from this? I have learned that other nations are not afraid to stand up to their leaders when they know full well they will be killed for doing so.

I hope that Americans learn that it is ok for us to stand up to our government about the things we are not happy with.

President Pantywaist said yesterday that this unrest in Iran is their right. I think it is our right to have the TEA Party movement. Why are we being labeled as radicals, extremists, un-American and other derrogatory names because we are fighting to "take back America?"

I am sick of President Pantywaist speaking out of both sides of his mouth and I am sick of the double standard in America.

I, like many Americans, am mad as hell and ain't gonna take it anymore. I have my window open as I shout this to the world. Won't you join me in being mad as hell and shouting it to the world?

40 million people cast paper ballots and within 2 hours of closing their polls someone expects the Iranian people to believe that "all" the votes were individually read and tallied? This is a travesty of justice.

I oppose the violence, but support the legitimate protests of the suspicion of election fraud. By gauging the size of the protests, I would think that the opposition (that lost) totally disbelieves that they were the significant minority. If the people rise up, most of the military will not oppose. The Revolutionary Guards (the dogs in "Animal Farm") will kill indiscriminately so to put fear in the people. If the people do not back down, the Guards will run or die fighting. This incident is the best thing that has happened to Iran in 30 years.

Funny, I don't think he did. Read the statistic above-40 million paper ballots managed to be counted in 2 hours????? Really? When all the the international workers were reporting 65% support for the opposing party, and 20% for another opposing party, somehow, nutjob managed-with a 15% prepoll support-to win?? Really??? Wow.

I was also surprised when the most senior Democratic Senator told Obama in a warning he going against the Constitution when he is using these Czars like he is doing especially the one for the Pay Czar.
People are fed up and it's getting more vocal. It's only the ones in the Obama Cult that are the ones still drinking the koolaid.

I don't like ole obammie and I doubt he would get us into a war with Iran, he has no nads-look at him making secret side deals to move his terror buddies to nice areas of the world. No Siberia for people who want to kill us, nope, his muslim terrorist friends get to go to the bahamas and palau-two very lovely and very expensive places, and we are paying about 11 million on average, per terrorist for them to be there.

But honestly Fef, when you think about it, the person in power over there is of little to no importance.

Their policy of continuing to peruse nuclear weapons will remain in place no matter who is at the helm.

My guess is they will end up facing the essentially useless UN sanctions and continue on the same path they are.
