Riot training in America? Will they succeed or fail?

An old movement with a new name, “99% spring,” plans “non-violent direct action.” Or do they plan riot and civil commotion?

Riot training manuals?

A 14-page brochure came to CNAV today from a source who prefers not to identify himself. The brochure publishers call themselves “The 99% Spring.” The source said that they really are “Occupy Wall Street” with a new name.

In observing the OCCUPY activities over the past year or
so, I surmised that their “first wave” was designed to serve as their
learning curve, and that their puppet masters would then deploy them to
mount “Wave Two”, creating new and more vehement outrages, building on
their experience.

Who might those “puppet masters” be? The slogans in the brochure offer key clues:

As a generation we must choose between greater wealth for
a few, or opportunity for many; tax breaks for the richest, or a fair
shot for the rest of us….

The man now holding office as President, Barack H. Obama, spoke those
words almost verbatim at a campaign stop this week. Coincidence? Or
correlation? To quote the late Ian Fleming:

Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, and the third time it’s enemy action.

Guy Fawkes, a symbol of riot in the name of populist causes

Guido "Guy" Fawkes, chief suspect in the Gunpowder Plot.

This organization has many more materials, including a 60-page version of the linked brochure.

The problem: how do they define non-violent action? On page 4 of the brochure, the organizers try to define that phrase. And they equivocate.

Some believe that cursing or carrying a loud
tone is violent. Others believe that clipping a lock to re-occupy a
foreclosed home, destroying a draft card, or disabling a war machine is
non-violent.

The brochure says only that any “action group” agree in advance on
how far they will go. The above suggests that they might indeed be
willing to do violent things.

Obviously “The 99% Spring” cannot afford to tell people to riot. To tell anyone to riot in advance is to incite to riot. Every jurisdiction in the land has a law against that. But the source that forwarded the brochure to CNAV dropped this dark hint:

Some Tea Party people infiltrated some of their training
sessions. One of them brought this brochure out. And they heard the
training leaders say, “We might have to do violence to achieve our
goals.”

Was that leader serious? Could this have to do with their choice of name? After all, “99% Spring” calls to mind the Arab Spring of 2011.

Action dates

The “99% Spring” lists several “action dates” between now and the first of June. One date, the April 17 tax filing deadline, has already passed. Page 11
of the brochure says that the organization called for people to gather
at the headquarters buildings of the largest American corporations,
present a cardboard “tax bill,” and demand “payment.” This is the closest thing to a “disruptive action” that happened on Tax Day, at the South Bend, Indiana headquarters of AT&T.;

The next “action date” might see more obvious “action”: April 24, the
day of the shareholders’ meeting of the Wells Fargo group in San
Francisco, CA. The next day has two different “actions” in two different cities.

But the most significant “action date” is May 1: May Day. The old
Soviet Union celebrated May Day every year. (Opponents of communism
observed “Law Day” on that day.) What will May Day look like?

Nor does this group limit its “actions” to those dates. The brochure
also speaks of sit-ins in Congressional or Senate offices. The source
also warned that members of this movement might plan to send
counter-demonstrators to pick fights with people at Tea Party rallies,
and make it look as if the Tea Party people started them.

… remember that they are well-trained, well-funded,
extremely well-organized and directed. This is no longer the ragtag
bunch of fools who are clueless about what they are there for – they are
still ragtag but now they have marching orders and each group will have
an even better trained leader(s)…

He advised Tea Party rally organizers to have plenty of people on
hand with video cameras, and to call the police as soon as they realize
that someone is there to start a riot.

Who benefits from riots?

One of the oldest maxims of law enforcement reads:

Seek whom the crime will profit.

Or in Latin, cui bono? Who benefits? If riots break out and
surprise everyone, the government benefits. The government brings order,
and people cry out for order.

This movement might fizzle, if their “action dates” draw no bigger
crowds than at the South Bend event. Or it might gather strength, if the
organizers recruit more people.

0WS was an artificial construct with no defined goals, but it may have been a test pattern for future public manipulation, a way of 'putting a toe in the water' so to speak. Maneuvering situations toward an excuse to declare martial law is a consideration with this underhanded administration.

OWS is a mindless, leaderless, pointless movement that only gives those too damn lazy to get an actual job something to do besides play video games in Mommies and Daddies basement for the rest of their lives.

I some big cities, who knows, sad that women and children suffer from such occurrences! The leaders that provoke this should be taken out and hung! Any leader that cause a riot with opening their big fat mouth should be hung!

"disabling a war machine is non-violent."

Whoever wrote that never seen the movie "Red Dawn”, and it is VERY clear that they have never been in any real combat situation. As to riot training, that is nothing to actual war training, because the riot police training teaches how to use tear gas, rubber bullets, and water hoses. I am a trained soldier, and we trained with rifles, claymores, and 50 caliber machine guns.

No, these people in occupy wall street knows nothing at all, and if they become too violent, then they will face civilization's equivalent to the rifle, claymore, and 50 caliber machine gun, which is the Swat teams in the various cities, who use automatic rifles, snipers, night vision, and other weapons of deadly force. Their weapons are all designed to take out the criminal as the military’s weapons take out their enemies.

I am on the fence about this one. Simply because it seems like they are just waiting in the wings if anything negatively affects Obama. Such as the SCOTUS striking down his healthcare law.

Although I feel a great deal of sympathy for struggling poor people having been a member of that class I do not see the protesters as being members of that class. Really poor people don't plan a protest around their college classes.
Another problem I have with the 99%'s is that they seem more about the show than about making any relevant changes. The whole message is about discontent not about specific changes. Protest needs to be done like surgery with a fine edged scalpel not like a sledge hammer smashing at random.
This leads me to the conclusion that the main purpose of the protests is to spread discontent and completely destroy the republic.

LMAO... No one is saying they don't have the right to gather peacefully. How those peaceful actions are defined is very broad. Not to mention his is not a movement that MLK would advocate for. Considering their previous and current methods to protest.

Actually have heard Van Jones make claims of violent disobedience. Which is in otherwords riot training. The fact you want to be so literal is why they have folks like you fooled. This is not a movement to take lightly.

I love how you take an audio totally out of context. Because there is nothing in her comments that says we need to rise up in a violent way. She said very clearly when our government starts act in a way that is tyrannical. We as citizens as a last resort have the right to defend themselves if need be. With Obama extending and adding to the patriot act. The signing of the NDAA which has taken our right to due process. Adding fuel to the fire we have black hawk helicopters flying over communities across this nation, and unmanned drones as well. People like you don't see anything threatening or representing tyranny in that. Please use your common sense.

Actually there is no need to train legal citizens for 2nd amendment training. Guess what they already know how to use a gun. They know what their rights are under the 2nd amendment.

To impose your perception on her comments doesn't make what you right. The point she made very clear. Is if our government continues to attack our rights. People may feel that they have to exercise their 2nd amendment rights. We are in the midst of a heavily tyrannical administration.

So what made the Bush administration tyrannical towards american citizens? All Ithe saw for 8the years under Bush was a bunch of whininghorse and obnoxious sometimes racist rhetoric. I didnt always agree with Bush. I never saw him display the arrogance or hatred for this nation that Obama exhibits. Mitt Romney is a non-issue though I do think he and Obama are cut from the same cloth. Mitt is just more of the slow and steady progressive. While Obama is the slam it down your throat quickly progressive. Obama took the same oath and has spit on the constitution at every turn.

Rachel Madcow is twisting what Sharon Angle said. She clearly said that she hopes that it does not come to a second amendment remedy. But everything she said about the second amendent was right and in historical context. The Second amendment is there to defend against a tyrannical Government.

Any Tyrannical Government. Like those that would let guns go to drug cartels in order to frame the 2nd Amendment. Then in the process get border patrol agents killed.Or those that would violate the Constitution to interfere with the internal affairs of a soveriegn nation like Libya. Or like taking over auto industries and violating the 5th amendment . Or making UnConstitutional Laws that is only about control and not healthcare. Shutting down offshore drilling and destroying thousands.
    of jobs.
Then there is giving taxpayers money (Half a Trillion Dollars) to Solyndra Executives. Just so the company fails while the executives get off scott free with millions.
The Trillions of dollars in so called stimulus money going to Union fat cats and so called shovel ready jobs.
Then there are the Lies, Lies and more Lies. Summer of Recovery, The Economy is improving. Jobs are coming back, we just need a little more time.
The agenda is to break this Country down and bring in a Socialist Government. If and when that happens, that is when the second amendment kicks in and that is what Sharon Angle was takng about.

It's good that the Obama Administraton got some border patrol agents killed. Right?
