Rick Santorum: Top-tier on Most Corrupt Member of Congress list 2 years running

POODYLOU ☮ R P ☮ 2012 ☮ 2012/01/03 14:37:08

Oh, those pesky little facts that mainstream media just does not like to bother mentioning. They have been so busy the last couple of months trying to find anything they could possibly dig-up and repeatedly twist around to try to smear Ron Paul while not doing their job on vetting the rest of the candidates. Oh, but be nice now, they have been really busy working overtime trying to stop the obvious momentum of someone they repeatedly and repeatedly and repeatedly report is unelectable!

I guess by their own actions, the candidate they really don't consider as electable must be actually Rick Santorum, as he has not been vetted at all for the Iowa voters. That is just fine though, myself and many others will step in and fill the gap as usual.

While Rick Santorum was in the US Senate, he actually did have a couple of accomplishments worth noting. He managed to make CREW's (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) list of "Most Corrupt Members of Congress" for both 2005 and 2006. In 2005, there were only 3 Senators that earned this dubious destinction so you might say that Rick Santorum actually was at some point really in the Top-tier.

With many different types of ethical violations and concerns listed in both of CREW's reports, we could probably just start with the big ones and will let readers look at the rest for themselves.

The first question Sen. Santorum should have been asked would be, "Don't you think maybe you actually should have been living in Pennsylvania if you were their US Senator? Or how about, "If you really were not living there, do you think it was right to take money from a school district in PA for 2 of your children to homeschool there? Why did you have a history of remarkable timing in sponsoring bills in favor of specific industries that had just donated money to your campaign?

2005 Report

2006 Report

Those 3 questions should have just been the tip of the iceberg in trying to exercise due diligence in vetting Rick Santorum for the voters of Iowa.

Many Americans do not believe the polls but if you are an Iowa voter that is undecided between Rick Santorum and Ron Paul, then you owe it to yourself and our nation to at least look into some of the facts further as the mainstream media has done an atrocious and shameful job. In the video embedded, "Like Ron Paul, except on foreign policy?" you will see which of the candidates has actually been telling the American people the truth about Iran and our current, dangerous foreign policy.

We just can not afford to be fooled.

Really?! I thought yall had real corrupt material about him? Did you actually read that CREW report of 2005? A battle of which school district is kids belong to because he wanted his kids to take cyber school and accepting $2,000 donation from AccuWeather? Give me a break this is a little ridiculous!

Keep trashing Paul......just don't ask us to support your loser GOP candidates when the time comes. Romney and Santorum will both lose to Obama. Why? Because without us you will lose everytime. We are the next-gen Republicans, we hate disenfranchisement and we will always stand on principle before party. I have voted Republican for the last 3 elections, but I am finished being dumped on. Prepare for another Obama victory the GOP earned it!

Sounds like Rick will fit right in with the big boys club of socialist neanderthals. Remember, these are the type of candidates that the GOP WANTS you to pick. Good grief.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington is a far left organization. You really cant take their reports all that serious since the vast majority of their targets are their political adversaries. If Rick Santorum did anything illegal He would have been impeached or put in prison. This report is basically the opinion of a left wing organization. Santorum broke no laws.

I read the 2005 report and thinks it's a petty good stretch to make an issue out of his children's education as it appears that the departments decided in his favor. As far as he being given a champaign contribution for m the weather service, c,mon look around and you find that in ANY politicians background. Oh and the way, I don't support the Senator, I'm a Newt supporter.

It is wrong for me to assume that people would actually research the candidates. I really did not think that people would ever give Santorum a second look, I am sure it will be very short lived, since he has put all of his eggs in Iowa's basket. I guess I can blame my media programming on that trait. I do not dwell on the negative until the media, begins to act as if someone is the best thing since the wheel. I have learned that if the news acts is if it is a good thing, they are probably hiding things from the American people.
I have not chosen to only post my thoughts on Santorum, I have negative posts on them all.

Crazy can be defined in many ways. I think the Republican and Democratic foreign policy is crazy, and that Ron Paul's is the only one that has shown any sanity for a long time. I guess if you believe America is a target because we're free and not because we've been screwing around in the affairs of other countries for decades, the establishment foriegn policy positions seem logical. I disagree.

Every one of Ron Paul's ideas are based on the principle of liberty, and freedom. In America, you'd think those would be pretty strong positives in most people's eyes. I guess most people don't understand the concept of freedom, or else they simply listen to the media as if they have ever told us the truth about anything.

There is no doubt about Ron Paul's oddball ideas.

In YOUR mind. Or maybe you just don't understand that not everybody thinks like you?

And like I said, I think the ideas of the establishment are "oddball" ideas. They certainly don't follow the belief in freedom. Any self-respecting American should consider the "leaders" in Washington to be oddballs. But they don't, because most of them have no idea what freedom really means.
