We're just seven months away from the 2012 election, and until now the Republican primary has still been a variable. Now Rick Santorum, the only other candidate capable of winning the nomination (though it would have taken a miracle), pulled the plug on his candidacy, essentially handing the nomination over to Mitt Romney. He made the announcement in Gettysburg, PA, on Tuesday.

During a news conference, Santorum said "I met a lot of folks I will never forget ... I want to thank all of you for what you have given ... which is a voice to those who, in many cases, are voiceless ... Against all odds, we won 11 states, millions of votes ..." But then Santorum went on to deliver the bad news to his supporters. "We made a decision over the weekend that, well, this presidential race is over for me, and we will suspend our campaign effective today." Still, Santorum maintains that he's "not done fighting" and he will "continue to fight for those voices." Were you rooting for Rick Santorum in the upcoming 2012 presidential election?

Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate worth anything. This had nothing to do with Santorum's Religious views, it had to do with his itchy trigger finger and big government war mongering. If the man stood by his Religious views, I would have respect for him, but he flip flopped almost as much as Romney, and that is saying something.

Although I am christian we don't need a theocrat in office. I never liked Santorum he reminds me of a little kid that starts fights with everyone. W on Roids. He was not a better alternative to Obama.

While I supported Herman Cain (with some reservations), I've been undecided most of the campaign. I'll vote for Romney against Obama, but I'm not thrilled with him. Of course, I didn't particularly care for Santorum either.

No, fortunately his girl was released from the hospital and is doing well at home gettin better from pneumonia. No Rick dropped out before suffering an embarrassing and career killing loss in his home state of PA - they booted him out of the Senate 6 years ago, and still can't stand him. This Theocrat bigoted hate filled sick human being isn't fit to govern his own underwear drawer, much less a nation.

Karen Santorum was the live in girl friend of an abortion doctor for over 6 years. The guys around 90 now and he can barely get around. I'm certain Obama would have brought that out.
