"Richard Dawkins: I can't be sure God does not exist He is regarded as the most famous atheist in the world but last night Professor Richard Dawkins admitted he could not be sure that God does not exist." What do you think?

I've read every book Dawkins ever wrote. His arguments against God were so weak it amazes me that anyone would think he has an intelligent argument. They sound more like a temper tantrum against God than a reasonable explanation. He's even proposed that we could have been created by aliens. Another possibility he came up with was that we could be in a computer program, like the matrix. He's grasping for straws. I hope he wakes up and comes to God. But the longer a person resists, the harder their heart gets. He's playing with fire. (No Pun Intended)

An atheist is not somebody who asserts 100% without any possibility there is no God. Jesus people. It means lack of belief. He has been saying this from the begining. If you read his book God Delusion you would know this. And I have proof on youtube.

The God Delusion was a great Fairytail book for adults.

His comment is completely in line with every other comment he has previously made about his beliefs. He has never said that he believes 100% that God doesn't exist, and no one in their right mind ever would.

He's always advocated this point. No intelligent man claims to KNOW something exist/doesn't of 100%. What he claims is that with ALL the evidence/information we have on gods/birth of Christianity(in particler) and evolution it's highly unlikely that gods exist especially this particular one in the western world. The fact that people believe in things based on ignorance, cultural conversion, and have a large cognitive dissedence in thinking.

Every sunrise, sunset, rainbow, natural beauty.....all given by God....Souls are not created by science....God proves to us everyday how much he loves us....If you are too ignorant to see what he has for us..then that is your loss my friends...

Wonder if some of the more hostile, self-described, so-called "atheists" will turn on him?

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

I highly doubt you have a more intelligent opinion on this. You simply want to believe and so you do, without any evidence, and relying on mindless dogma. He said theoretically we could have been created by aliens, which we could, not that he thinks it is likely. It is yes, far more likely than a Christian God created us, but still extremely improbable.

The question is...will you remain an idiot? Do you really think you're the only one that does research? Geesh!!!!!
  • Emperor... Rick 2012/03/20 14:26:29

Rick I can say with absolute confidence you are the idiot here and while you might have done research you clearly did not understand.

When you get some real evidence, look me up. But don't waste my time with moronic statements about everyone being stupid that doesn't agree with you. Until I see some evidence, I'll remain a skeptic.

If you mean skeptical about God, I am a skeptic. If you mean a skeptic about a lack of belief in a God, the burden is onn you. I am not saying you are stupid because you disagree. I am saying you have expressed nothing but unintelligent opinions pertaining to this matter.

I just saw this. You did not read God Delusion or if you did you did not understand it. It isn't the job of an atheist to have evidence of a god. You have to demonstrate that evidence or else you are no more rational in that belief than if I were to tell you vampires and werewolves are real.
  • Rick Emperor... 2012/04/23 19:39:24
    Rick
The evidence is there for ALL to see. An Atheist can't find God for the same reason a criminal can't find a cop.
  • Emperor... Rick 2012/06/08 06:54:06
    Emperor Claudius
You don't have evidence for a god. You have a desire to believe. You choose to believe because you want to, not because it is the most rational choice, which is fine but let's not pretend it is the atheist being the irrational one.
  • Rick Emperor... 2012/06/09 16:53:23

Plenty of evidence. Read both sides of the argument before coming to a conclusion.
  • Emperor... Rick 2012/09/02 18:14:44
    Emperor Claudius
I have read both arguments. I read Christian apologetics all the time. I do not lack respect for somebody because they are religious but they are asserting without evidence. What evidence is there?

No... it is unscientific to say anything with utter certainty. Atheism simply means a lack of belief.

Just like Hitchens. He is no fool. He most likely will invoke God's mercy in the end, just as Hitchens said he might do... but he would be out of it.....just in case!

Many do call to god on their death bed. I wonder why? Is it just fear or do they see more when near death?

What? Hitchens said clear as day he wouldn't invoke any gods at his death bed. He even stated he knew some christians were going to make the claim after he died hence why he created the video.

I heard him to say when asked ' he would be out of it if he did' on Piers Morgan and don't believe it.

We don't know now do we, if he did or didn't???

Oh yes i'm aware of said discussion. He was saying if he DID happen to say it, consider him delusional (i'm paraphrasing) as he would be out of it and any mention of claims post death would most likely be a lie. Essentially he was warning us of false claims from untrustworthy theist.

No we don't, but it's highly unlikely as his previous view. To claim otherwise is the exact reason he mentioned this before his death.

We are all God's children whether we reject Him or not. He never gives up on any of his children. Even if there is just a crack in the door, He will save anyone who asks....even the most scarlet of sinners.

Yes I understand you can believe that as it's your choice, but it doesn't make it true. This is why making the claim like "Hitchens called out to God" is false. Just as well I could say "We are all Moros's children whether we reject Him or not. He never gives up on any of his children. Even if there is just a crack in the door, He will save anyone who ask....even the most scarlet of sinners."

I'm more worried about the overall truth than my opinion.
