That is a very ignorant comment, "Rich people pillage the economy." When is the last time you got hired for a decent-paying job by a poor person or bankrupt company? "Pillage the economy"? Who, how and why and what would ever make you think such a silly thing? The economy, nay the entire country needs those rich folks. Hey, they buy the expensive cars, the fancy real estate. They throw parties that require massive amounts of food from the markets. Their maintenance requirements for their homes employs bundles of people. (You didn't actually think they clean their own houses or mow those enormous lawns every day, now, do you?)

And then you have the charities within the United States -- as well as elsewhere in the world. How many orphans have your donations fed lately? Housed? If you, God forbid, have a child in dire need of medical treatments but you have no money, how do you think they got into places like St. Jude's? On yours and my $20 donations each month? Hey, don't take away the effectiveness of our little efforts but, face it, it doesn't add up to a whole lot at the end of the year and the needs far exceed our abilities to supply the funds.

Come on, people, stop with the jealousy and stupidity. You want to be rich like them? Get off your lazy butts and g...

Come on, people, stop with the jealousy and stupidity. You want to be rich like them? Get off your lazy butts and go out and get two, three jobs if you don't have big ideas for new products. Save and invest. Every individual American has the capability of doing it, they just need to get out and DO it. Meanwhile, this hatred and class envy crap is accomplishing absolutely nothing but dividing and conquering -- hello, sounds like a Chicago Crime Family tactic to me.

As with everything in this life, there are exceptions to everything. And there are some pretty big crooks among the rich folks. Like Mr. Madoff, king of the scam artists. So ferret out the criminals among the rich, just like we do among the rest of the populace, and mete out appropriate punishment -- along with restitution. Ah, restitution, my favorite word -- but let's stop with the silliness here and now. It's beginning to sound like a bunch of childish idiots.

I *know* this line didn't come from you, because only smart people hang out on SH. . .and this is one of the top five stupidest things I've ever read!

    1) Define 'rich.'

    2) Those whom we normally think of as 'rich' are the working wealthy. People who spend more time running businesses and hiring people than 'pillaging' anyone.

    3) Wealth is CREATED. It's not some finite resource where X gets a bigger piece of an imaginary pie than Y.

    4) The TRULY rich--the political elite--are the ones who 'pillage,' and they usually do it by convincing the useful idiot class to destroy themselves by going after the ONLY people who actually produce or create wealth in a culture.

Rich people are the people who make the economy grow.
We do not need the Socialist/democrat Party here.
Using democrat in their name is an antithesis of fact.

Yet it was Barney Frank and Chris Dodd--DEMOCRATS both--who forced that legislation the republicans begged them NOT to do, and they made all those poor folks sign up to buy what reality and common sense said they couldn't afford! Really.

So what you're really saying is democrats are destroying the country and poor folks are stupid and vote democrat..
  • tblackb freebirdie 2012/08/16 23:22:22

don't know where you go your information from but it was the republicans that pushed Clinton to repeal glass-steagall (put in to prevent the very things that caused the 2008 recession).

(Didn't read your link--sorry. I don't read everything everyone sends.) Yes, I am aware that republicans repealed the Act. It made sense at the time and was proven to help our economy.
HOWEVER-- Doesn't mean that democrats had to go further with it and open the floodgates of hell! Ask yourself why they did.
Republicans begged them not to!!!-- but they attached this to a military spending bill that Bush HAD to sign and they knew it. The bill was for armor for our troops. How low can democrats go? This proves how low. Our troops needed armor because the things they were facing over there (road bombs) were killing them, and yet the democrats decided to attach this bill to be able to blame him and win an election. SICKENING!!!!! "We'll let you provide armor to our men and women if you let us destroy the economy!" And you fall for the democrat/progressive BS all the time!

What poor person starts a business? Which poor people invest and help companies expand and hire? Which poor people pay a lot in taxes to pay for social programs? The class warfare is ridiculous. Wealthy people look for tax breaks and loopholes because, by and large, they pay for this country to run. 50% pay for 100% of the country. When low income folks who pay little or 10% feel like a wealthy person should be paying not only 30% of their income but then another 15% of what they made on their investments? And say it isn't enough? And the ones paying 10% feel like the wealthy should do more instead of the gov. cutting back spending? Nuts.

In the world of disgustingly rich people, Rommey is a piker. To be really rich is to be George Soros or Penny Pritzker, or Edgar Bronfman. These Super-Rich Socialists are ALL Obama supporters.

To support Barack Obama is to Vote to Pillage the Economy on the behalf of Wall Street.

Welfare robs everyone. . .SSI robs the working. . .Medi- anything robs the middle class.

I am middle class and no ones has a tax break for my bracket; Not Obama or Ramney. Bush's tax cuts lowered my taxes 10k a year, so I have a soft spot for him.
