Republicans Wrong Again: Over 50% Of Small Businesses Want To Keep ObamaCare

Samantha 2012/06/18 21:29:56
You would think by the way the Republicans have been talking that a clear majority of businesses want the Affordable Care Act be overturned. That is not the case at all, as shown in a recent poll of 800 small businesses throughout Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Texas and Virginia.

Only 30% of small businesses want the healthcare law overturned while 50% want it to stand with minor or no changes, according to the Small Business Majority.

You can read the full report here (http://www.smallbusinessmajority.org/small-business-research...

Only a third of small business owners want the Supreme Court to overturn the
Affordable Care Act; whereas, 50% would like it upheld, with minor or no changes.

By an 8:1 margin, entrepreneurs say they’d consider using a state health insurance
exchange, and they favorably view many possible features of the exchange:

A vast majority of respondents support many additional provisions in the law, such as preexisting condition exclusion bans, medical loss ratio and rate review:

    Hi betz :)

I don't really think you want to rely on the Heartland Institute for any of your information. They are a far right "think tank" that has, among other things, claimed that the tobacco industry is being persecuted because all of the scientific findings about the danger of second hand smoke are a hoax. They're also part of the oil industry funded campaign to claim that the science of global warming is a hoax.

They are the ones who put up billboards like this:

    unabomber billboard

And the group they cite, NFIB, is another far right lobbying group that is closely tied to the Tea Party and is responsible for the country having to deal with Rand "Lets Repeal the Civil Rights Act" Paul.

You know I respect your opinions, so forgive me if I have to question your sources on this one.

That's how polls work. The average Gallup Presidential poll, which I hope you'll agree is at least as reliable as most polls, generally only surveys a few thousand people out of 300 million.

How many people do you think they poll in the average Presidential poll? Your beloved Rasmussen's Presidential polls are based on 1500 people out of over 300 million, yet you folks claim that is reliable.

What Barry is attempting to do through fascism is to control private industry through government...which is more insidious than socialism. Heads government wins, tails government blames private industry. This aids and abets the flame against free markets and feeds class warfare.

There are approximately 30 million small businesses in the US. So they polled 800 of them, far less than 1/10 of 1% and they feel it is a legitimate representation of all small businesses. That is outright ridiculous, almost as ridiculous as their conclusion.

Rasmussen, the golden pollster of the Right Wing, publishes Presidential preference polls based on a survey of 1500 people out of 300 million.

Banter aside - what would you consider to be a fair sampling of a population of 30 million?

Liberal/progressives constantly play that game. If Rasmussen does a poll that supports their views then it is considered to be accurate. If it doesn't support their view they whine that it's results are inaccurate and tainted. Typical liberal/progressive hypocrisy.

National Small Business Organization Joins Lawsuit Against Obamacare
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)—the nation's largest small-business advocacy organization—has joined the ranks of twenty state attorneys general in a lawsuit attacking the constitutionality of President Obama's new healthcare law.
According to the NFIB, small firms represent 99.7 percent of all employment in the nation. That’s why NFIB's involvement is so vital, Graham says.

“NFIB's participation in the lawsuit is very important because it shows that it is not just a political stunt by states' attorneys' general but a real effort by businesses to avoid the deadly cost of Obamacare,” Graham said.

Obama just doesnt care about the constitution or your rights or our laws, dream act executive order, WOW , we HAVE an immigration law, HE just doesnt like it, and knows it wont be changed, he doesnt care about immigrants, only about flooding the voting box with votes. They ACT like theres no law and that its aweful going without one, but the TRUTH is theres already a law, they dont like it and cant get the votes to change it, even when they had a morjority in both houses they couldnt, WHY? because its BAD for America, but they dont care, the worse America is the closer they are to a dictatorship. NOTHING BUT fing communist is what they really are WAKE UP kick them all out and then jail as many of the theives as you can.

Obama's executive order for illegal immigrants was thought out way further than that. Look, Obama could have dealt with this when he had a vote proof majority, yes; however You are right it wasn't important to him. Back in Sept. 2011 Obama said he couldn't do this because of the law, seeking an excuse NOT to do anything; now he evolves.... why? Well Obama now has a win, win situation against the Republicans, He doesn't really want this to happen, so he uses an illegal executive order, that gets him support among Latinos and preempts Marco Rubio, possibly removing him from VP consideration, blames the Republicans for having to do this, and at the same time hoping the order will be found illegal and stuck down and Obama still gets the credit for trying... it was brilliant.

If you were to look up the republicans claims that the people want them to make all these changes, you will find that it is not true. The republicans keep pressing on with false statements figuring they will brain wash the people with lies and get their votes. The most troubling is that they pour millions to win votes for their election win. They are stealing the real votes by buying them. The rich taking this country and the republicans are allowing them.
