Republicans Spread Despair by Blocking Bill to Bring Jobs Home

Samantha 2012/07/23 16:11:51
How can anyone be opposed to bringing jobs back to the United States? Republicans oppose a bill to bring jobs back to the United States; this is more proof they're trying to destroy America. How

One facet of being a patriotic American is looking out for the nation’s best interests at all times and particularly the interests of the people. Indeed, so-called patriots in the Bush administration cited protecting Americans’ as one reason for going to war in Iraq and Afghanistan that garnered support from the populace because they believed fighting terrorists “over there” was preferable to endangering Americans at home. Republicans have not shown much interest in protecting Americans’ jobs though, and even less so when it comes to creating new jobs as they promised in the lead-up to the 2010 midterm elections. In fact, when Democrats and President Obama sought to eliminate tax breaks for companies that sent jobs overseas, Republicans fought to protect corporate profits and foreign jobs to keep unemployment numbers high. Over the past two weeks, news of Romney’s record of outsourcing American jobs has elicited denials, deflections, and accusations of dirty campaign tactics, but the practice of sending Americans’ jobs overseas is a staple of Republican, and Romney’s, corporate-friendly agenda for some time.

Last Thursday, in another attempt to protect corporations and kill American jobs, Republicans blocked a measure to reward companies that brought jobs back to America, and protect their candidate Willard Romney. Republicans in the Senate refused to allow a vote on a bill. The Bring Jobs Home Act, which provided a 20% tax break for costs related to moving jobs back to the United States, at the same time rescinding deductions for companies that moved operations and jobs overseas.

    FYI
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky responded by blaming Obama's existing policies for the economic malaise.

"We are now living in the Obama economy, and no 'post-it note' proposal can reverse the damage done by his policies over the past three and a half years," McConnell said. "It's baffling that in the face of all evidence to the contrary, this president still believes that spending money we don't have to inflate the government is the answer to America's economic problems."

And Brendan Buck, spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner, said "the House has passed more than 30 jobs bills that are sitting in the Senate right now -- bills focused on energy, regulations, and small business tax relief. That is our to-do list for Democrats."

Oh please, the GOP blocked a bill to bring jobs back to America, and they continue to obstruct and obstruct. No amount of your conservative lies can change the reality that conservatives want to destroy America.

Furthermore, the Democrats should never support corporate-created "regulatory" bills introduced by anti-environmental and anti-consumer conservatives. Republicans don't really care about small businesses; they care about their corporate donors.
