I guess Republican voted against legal crony capitalism or corruption, which is rampant in socialism.
How much Buffett owns the IRS?
How many millionaires want to be taxed more? 30? 50? Out of that number, how many made millions on the government contracts?
Get a grip people. How come some millionaires are better than others?
Soros – a good guy. Romney – a bad guy. Both guys make their money the same way. Investing.
Soros gives 10% for political causes. Romney gives 10% to charity.

I am glad. The message this should send is the first priority is Tax Reform which is in the Ryan Plan that would make the rich pay more by getting rid of loopholes. Next priority is getting rid of waste fraud and abuse of government. The next priority is reform of SS, medicare, Medicaid. The next priority is reform of health care with a focus on lowering cost!

No, no ,no. Start at the top and work your way down. Cut a percentage off each dept in the govt and then lets see what we got. Cutting programs for the lower middle class and poor should be the very last cuts to make.

While Obama talks about this law to placate his base, the stupid middle class will continue to vote against their best interest. I would be happy if the rich had to just pay the same percent payrole taxes that I pay.

taxing the rich will not cut down the debt, because the politicians will just keep spending until our monetary resources are exhaustive. If you think the fed can just keep printing money without it affecting the value of the dollar, I think I see why you think something as simple as "tax the rich" is the answer to you.

lol, I am surprised how many have such short memories. Clinton balanced the budget precisely because he increased taxes on the rich. But he also limited spending which evil republicans accused him of weakening our defense. Isn't it interesting that the party that claims it is strong on defense got hit with 9/11 and the party weak on defense was the party that got the person responsible for 9/11. Fact of the matter is that taxing the rich does cut down on debt. The last republican who balanced the federal budget understood this. Shame you current phony conservatives have thrown him under the bus.

Senate needs to change its filibuster rules. In addition the senate consists of 100 people. It is lucky if they agree on anything.
