Republicans Propose Creating a New Federal Office of Birtherism

Birthers are ignorant right wingers who would rather divide the nation that admit that a black man should be allowed to serve as President of the United States. For four years, in spite of having certified proof verified by a Republican governor and numerous other confirmations, they have continued their insane campaign, wasting thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of our already overworked court system and proving nothing more than that the President was born where he says he was born.
The Right Wing has consistently pushed other lies, too - one, that they want small government that doesn't interfere in people's private lives (while pushing to further restrict women's right to control their own bodies and trying to empower the Catholic Church to impose its will on employees who may not even be Catholic), and two, that they want to cut spending (while rejecting budget deals that would have cut 4 trillion dollars from the Federal Budget and refusing entirely to cut the enormous waste in the military budget).
So what do they come up with? They want to increase government bureaucracy and spend more of our tax dollars in order to investigate questions that have only been asked once in all 56 Presidential elections and that were answered as soon as they were posed the first time anyone asked them.
It's hard to decide whether their stupidity, their hypocrisy, or their disregard for the liberty and fairness that America is supposed to stand for are the worst part of the Right Wing, but none of them are anything that a sane person would want to see.

Republicans Propose Creating a New Federal Office of Birtherism
By: Jason Easley
May 30, 2012
Michigan Republican Senate candidate Pete Hoekstra has proposed the creation of new federal office staffed by the FBI and CIA that would check presidential candidates’ birth certificates.
According to the Detroit Free Press,
At a tea party gathering in Lapeer earlier this month, U.S. Senate candidate Pete Hoekstra said he’d like to create a federal office in Washington that would verify that presidential candidates meet the minimum requirements to hold the office.
“This is not brain surgery. It should be an FBI person, maybe a CIA person,” said Hoekstra, a former Republican congressman from Holland, during the meeting in response to a question from the audience about Obama’s citizenship. “If you want to run for president, you’ve got to go with the proper documentation and get it certified that you meet the qualifications to be the President of the United States.”
You may remember the name Pete Hoekstra from the incredibly racist local ad that he ran during the Super Bowl. The attack ad was so xenophobic and racist that it backfired and actually gave his incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow a double digit lead. The ad was so bad that according to a PPP poll it made 45% of respondents less likely to vote for him.
It is nice to see that Hoekstra learned absolutely nothing from his Super Bowl ad and is doubling down on the racism, but the bigger point is that the Republican Party has been so infected with birtherism that they are willing to institutionalize racism within our government.
Let me see if I have this straight, Republicans are anti-big government except when they want to expand the size of government by creating a new federal office in order to check Obama’s birth certificate? That is freedom loving small government conservatism in action. Hoestra’s comments are a symptom of a larger disease within the Republican Party.
From the party that spied on you and destroyed your liberties with the Patriot Act, comes a new office to check presidential candidate’s birth certificates. Hoekstra’s idea proves that there is no limit to how low Republicans will go in order to court the anti-Obama racist vote.

Here's the thing I still don't get. What would persuade the Birthers that any certificate was genuine? Do they need carbon dating? An evaluation by a document expert of their choosing? Is there anything at all -- other than sudden skin-whitening of a black man -- that would satisfy them that he was legitimate? But consider that 34 percent of the public believes in UFOs and 24 percent believes in witches. There is that mindset that believes in silly crap like the Far Righties.
There is a subculture that thrives on info from the conservative website WorldNetDaily and the loons at FAUX NonNews. All they have to do is throw out a little red meat. They know their audiences well... mouthbreathers love any conspiracy. It doesn't take much to get them going.

Whewwww....woo geezus, my side hurts. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
if he was not a lib he would not be asking for another governemnt agency to do what the fec already does.
I have no problem with spending an extra $1.00 in federal taxes per year to create a department that would act to ensure that EVERY potential candidate for the two highest offices in our govt. are legally eligible to hold those offices.
Let's see .... that occurs every four years (typically) so I would be donating 4 bucks to the cause. The office could be relatively small with a sole employee for 3 years out of that four, perhaps a janitor that keeps the mice well fed.
During the election year, the office would be bustling with perhaps 6 part-timers, former FBI Agents, two forensic document analysis experts and two private citizens. They'd have about 2 dozen candidates to review, requiring all valid paper documents presented at time of officially announcing their candidacy.
Anyone opposed to this would be hard-pressed to justify why it is a bad idea.
Besides..... who else is refusing to supply any authentic paper eveidence regarding their eligibility?
Ya think 0bozo would agree to that deal?

That's rich.
Back in Feb. 2009 he couldn't make up his mind which Honolulu hospital it was. There were as many flip-flops on that one as his coming out party.
However, that should make it simple for him to corroborate his c/g online image and he can post another c/g online image showing the hospital record as well...... give me a phuckin' break.
Almost. hehehehe
