I know several doctors who have considered or are considering early retirement or a career change.

What DR. Mark Schiller says in his articles and the survey points out is that doctors do not think that ACA goes nearly far enough to ensure access to healthcare for all Americans. http://www.washingtontimes.co... I think that we can all agree that the ACA is just a start and that much more need to be done to reform the healthcare system in our country.

When I read the article you posted I got the opposite reaction, I read it as the doctors saying it's a step in the wrong direction creating even more barriers between patient and doctors. I like the last sentence from the article.
It is clear that the only solution is the “separation of medicine and state” and to tell politicians to take the same oath as our doctors: “Do no harm.”

The key message in the article is that if you just give broad access to health insurance it doesn't guarantee access to healthcare. The concern is that *just* providing insurance may make things worse.

I agree that the key message was indeed that access to insurance doesn't guarantee access to healthcare. I also took from the article that the ACA is taking an already ailing system and amplifying its failures, rather than addressing the problems. Therefore making healthcare even less accessible than it was previously.

No, I think the second part of the message is that much more work needs to be done to fix our healthcare system. If Obamacare is repealed, we won't see healthcare reform for at least 2 decades. Our healthcare system cannot survive that long without significant changes, it is a system in a crisis.

I agree on most points other than repeal. When the republicans push for its repeal they will have to propose a sound alternative. Hopefully one that allows patients access to their doctors without the intrusions we currently see, and will see more of with Obamacare.

What are they going to propose replacing Obamacare with? "Common sense healthcare reform" as Mr Romney says? Would that look like what Mr Romney did in Massachusetts? That would be Obamacare!

If the Republicans don't kill the ACA before it goes into full effect, the people of the United States will not want to give up the valuable benefits it provides, and they will have seen that the horror stories are just scare tactics.

If they do kill healthcare reform, there is no chance that they will be able to implement any real reform for many decades.

First Romney knows the pitt falls of Obamacare since it is so similar to romneycare, and he knows firsthand how it will not work on the national level. Second any reform that doesn't include tort reform, interstate insurance, and an increase in the ability for competition in the market isn't a reform.
Personally I believe the ACA will never go into full effect, and I'm grateful for that. Mostly because I see no way that it's "valuable benefits" will ever be as great as the valuable benefits of private healthcare.

Obamacare does nothing that eliminates private healthcare, it provides for health insurance for all Americans. I agree that much more reform is needed, but it is a good start. I doubt very seriously that the republicans will gain sufficient control to repeal the ACA.

I disagree with you regarding the elimination of private healthcare, because Obamacare is a start in that direction. The only logical conclusion of this path is national single payer healthcare.
The nice thing that justice Roberts did for us was make it where only 51 votes are needed in the Senate to remove the individual mandate. Without that the rest of Obamacare will fall apart. However with a 2:1 margin of Democrats up for re-election vs Republicans in the Senate, the likely hood that enough votes will exist for total repeal is pretty decent.

Not really. Take a look at http://www.realclearpolitics....

Of the 8 toss us seats in the Senate, the Democrats only need to get 3 seats, where the GOP would need to claim 6. Possible, but not probable. Not to mention the GOP would also have to hang on to the house and win the Presidency.

All in all a long shot, at best.

I can tell you the RCP is underestimating NM Where Heather Wilson is running against Martin Heinrich. She's Formidable, popular, and hasn't lost an election.
I think it's fair to say that this whole election is a long shot for many, but if I were leaning left I would be concerned.

Even Rasmussen shows Heinrich up by 4 points and they are notoriously right wing. http://www.rasmussenreports.c...

For a broader look at the polls see: http://www.realclearpolitics....

I think you are being unreasonably biased.

It's possible that I am being biased I don't hold back that I am a conservative, and as such I feel I'm being optimistic. Mostly because the direction this nation has been led by liberals and progressives has such a bleak endpoint.
She should have a deficit right now, she hasn't started to campaign yet, keep your eye on this one it will turn.

    This study polled 699 doctors.
According to the US Department of Labor, as of 2010 there were about 691,000 doctors in the USA. (http://www.bls.gov/ooh/Healt...
So this poll surveyed about 1% of all US doctors. I wouldn't put much significance into it.

Most poll are often small. This is why poll are often so far off. If they do not get a good grouping it just does not work.

That's why I usually don't pay any attention to polls. They can't just survey 1000 people and then say "60% of Americans think Obama is having Kool-Aid with his dinners." It's just kind of a pet peeve of mine.
