Rep. Paul Ryan Says No to Government Shutdown: Is He Lying?

Not only is he a liar but he's a nut job proposing the cuts that he has proposed.
1.) Republicans want to retain all of the luxuries of wealth and affluence only for themselves, while the working class can't afford to pay for the things they need, Food Clothing Shelter, due to the Right Wing Christian Conservative Republican Need For Greed! They would never dream of sacrificing their over-inflated incomes, pensions, and golden parachutes and living on a shoe string like the majority of Americans have to do.

2.) The notion that Republicans are pushing to cut funding for things like Planned Parenthood, Head Start early childhood education programs, and homeless veterans' housing services -- important to those who utilize these services, but on a much smaller order of magnitude than anything like Medicaid or Medicare.

a. Planned Parenthood.... this will not set well with anyone but by cutting funding for planned parenthood we would be not only taking away a valuable resource for reproductive education and counseling but also denying a woman’s right to control the fate of her body and her health. THEY DON’T JUST DO ABORTIONS!!!!!!!!!! When will people get their heads wrapped around that fact???

b. Cutting finding for Head Start early childhood education programs is short sighted and actually quite stupid. The notion of cutting services for Head Start--which aids in the pre-Kindergarten education of at risk, is insane.... As it stands right now most of the children today can't write read, research or learn anything unless it's on a TV or Computer. Cutting funding for that is stepping back into the dark ages of education. America is already producing more poorly educated students, pushing them through the system and PASSING them instead of making them repeat a grade so as not to damage their precious self-esteem.

c. Homeless veterans' housing services. WHY DO WE EVEN NEED TO QUESTION THE NEED FOR THESE SERVICES? Americans have no shame in terms of ASKING men and women to go into battle for them BUT when they come home broken scared and mentally or emotionally compromised we turn OUR BACKS ON THEM. Cutting funding for these services is a slap in the face for EVERY SERVICE MAN OR WOMAN!

d. Suggesting (per Paul Ryan’s proposed 2012 Fiscal budget) that we turn Medicare into a Subsidized Insurance Plan for seniors, is irresponsible. These Seniors who can't afford to live now, let alone Pay for the "Insurance" is just anther way of taking from the poor and giving to the wealthy. Supposedly, according to this plan, When the recipient enrolls in Medicare, they would receive a fixed annual payment for insurance from Uncle Sam.

i. Here is where it gets good!! This payment would be higher for those with greater health-care needs and would be adjusted for the cost of health care in particular areas. Who will determine the amount of the increase, Define what greater Health care needs are and amount of the adjustment for health care needs in a particular area?

ii. Beneficiaries would then purchase insurance from private providers on a health exchange, a sort of supermarket where plans compete for customers.

1. It is a structure derived from a plan drawn up previously by Ryan and Alice Rivlin, a Brookings Institution economist and former budget director under President Bill Clinton.

2. It is also similar to the health-exchange plan contained in President Obama’s health-care reform law. The GOP proposal released Tuesday calls for that law’s repeal. (I find this humerous! They want to repeal the plan but they want to use part of it? Can you spell hypocritical?)

This Medicare exchange would be “tightly regulated,” according to the Republican long-term budget. Why does it have to be tightly regulated by a political party? It needs to be Tightly regulated and over-seen by the Insured beneficiaries, through the establishment of a public oversight group. Keep the politicians out of the oversight or the money will surely disappear.


Insurers would have to promise to insure all Medicare beneficiaries, even the least healthy.

This is a case with a loophole…. Insurance companies can refuse to pay benefits for any number of personal, political or bureaucratic reasons. FACT: IN 1977 just out of High school I worked for a Major Insurance Company based in Columbus. They were the Medicare Claims Insurance company, that all recipients had to deal with. I handled a case where a quadriplegic Viet Nam veteran requested benefits for an electric wheelchair. I OK’d the benefit payment “for Medical Need and Cause”, based on him being on a ventilator and being paralyzed from the upper chest down. He had only minimal shoulder movement ability. My supervisor called me into the conference room and threw the file back at me and told me to call this man and tell him a mistake had been made and that he would not receive the wheelchair. I told the supervisor “NO YOU CALL HIM I QUIT”. AND I DID. This supervisor was notorious for denying benefits to Veterans of ANY military action.



If they want to find a way to deny benefits THEY WILL.

Ryan on Tuesday stressed that the plan is not a voucher system, which would send subsidy checks to beneficiaries. It is a “payment support” plan, he said, under which the government would pay an individual’s subsidy directly to insurers.

Medicare’s prescription-drug benefit now works this way, Ryan pointed out.

“The whole point is that it works more like things people are already familiar with,” he said.

Making health care something seniors purchase from their own pockets would unleash the power of free market competition, according to Ryan.



How does a Senior citizen who gets, MAYBE $ 1100.00 a month afford to pay for Nutritious Food, Housing, and Transportation services, afford to pay for their Medicare Prescription Insurance, Their Life Insurance to cover their final expenses, and NOW have to PAY MORE FOR an insurance plan that the government is forcing them to pay for.



The BIGGEST problem with this plan is that THOSE OF US, who have paid in to MEDICARE for at least the last 30 years are going to get screwed in the A$$ because We won’t be able to take advantage of either the existing plan which is a free for service plan or this new proposed plan either.



He is lying to US and LYING TO HIMSELF If he believes any of his plan will work.
