California Congressman Maxine Waters told Denver Democrats tonight that Republicans are waging a war on women on issues ranging from health care to wage disparity.

During her speech at the 5th annual House District 7 Unity Dinner, she accused Republicans of attacking any chance they get.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters and House Minority Leader Mark Ferrandino at tonight's House District 7 Democratic Unity Dinner in Denver. Waters served as the keynote speaker, while Ferrandino was cheered when he was introduced as the next speaker of the House.

“We cannot allow the opportunities that America stands for to be eroded by those who simply want to bring this president down,” she said.

She was cheered when she said, “After a good night sleep, I wake up the next day, and I say, ‘Come on, Tea Party, let’s get it on.’”

Among those present at the dinner: Congresswoman Diana DeGette; Denver City Councilwomen Robin Kniech and Mary Beth Susman; state Rep. and Sen. Mike Johnston, who represent House District 7; and Sen. Pat Steadman and House Minority Leader Mark Ferrandino.

Republicans criticized Democrats for inviting a congresswoman facing ethics charges. Waters said she was there at the invitation of Williams and “that’s that.”

    The Tea Party is not intrested in womans Issues it is about Fiscal responsibility. The Democrats will continue to try and expand the scope of Issues that they connect to the Tea Party and the Main Sream Media will continue to misrepresent the goals and Objectives of the Tea Party. Fiscal Responsability is one thing the Democrats just cannot Allow. They are unwilling and unable to even discuss the Issue, Their answer is to raise taxes so they can keep spending.
