1. Term limits.
2. No retirement program...use SS or private savings..
3. Congress must use Obamacare.
4. Congress are under the same laws as other citizens.
5. Limit re-election events to three months before election day
6. Congress can't raise their own salary, but must use COLA as the seniors do each year.

Absolutely; and stop electing lawyers. And only vets, one stripe or 4 stars, fine but has to be a vet. People keep screaming about more military, and then elect draft dodgers. Crazy.

Plus term limits; abbreviated sessions; NO LOBBYISTS; no earmarks and far better oversight. Finally, return power to the states and cook the big federal bureaucracy. CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM NO MONEY FROM CORPORATIONS TO CONGRESS OR PRESIDENT. Fly to and from Washington on commercial airlines and congress men and women buy their own tickets. No lavish vacations for the President's spouse and children without the president. President's kids attend public schools like all the other children in DC. Enough of the elitist crap for the crappy.

Voters live their lives first and foremost, with almost total disregard to politics and the effects they have on their lives, aside from the casual complaint. Which we all do.

I've been concerned about this for over 40 years.

I don't expect an enlightenment any time soon.
