Jimmy Carter has borne a bad reputation in some circles for his Presidency. I can't find any reason whatsoever to dislike this quote, unless you are a bigot against women.

    Carter was mediocre, not horrible.
    Bush 2 was horrible.
    Reagan? Let's see....
    Under Carter, the National Debt rose $310 billion.
    Under Reagan, it rose $1925 billion.
    We're still paying interest on all that too.

    I really don't take advise from presidents OR religious organization leadership seriously.

    As a woman and as a former employer; regardless of Carter or the Religious dude's opinions, I really preferred to hire men to work for me, as women tended to have far more demands and priorities from things other than their work. They may have a "job" priority as in the job of taking care of their kids, but THEIR kids are not MY priority. Running my business was my priority. Which is exactly why women statistically make less money than do men. And is probably why Carter didn't focus on HIS job enough to be able to keep it for a 2nd Term.

    Jimmy Carter would have been better in his second term. Considering what came next --- we'd all have been better off. Carter has done so much good after his presidency.

    Jimmy Carter, Worst president in the history of America, until Oblamer. Under Carter we had inflation out the kazoo, double digit interest rates, the Iran hostage situation for 444 days,gave away the Panama Canal. Yep, those were wonderful times... NOT. I honestly believe he was a good man, his politics suck though!

    Because darling, conservatives have always treated women as equals because they knew they were equals! Liberals wanted to give women special rights (N.O.W. Womens Lib.) even though enlightened women knew that they had those rights in the first place. Liberals don't understand the power that is inherently theirs, so they fight for imaginary causes.

    ...and STILL too much of a sniveling wimp to say 'Muslim' religious leaders. Have any of you heard of ONE Christian, Jewish or Catholic leader subjugating women? Jimmeh's humanitarian policies forced the Shah of Iran to release political prisoners, some of whom are now leaders in the terrorist movements, caused the Shah to flee and the Ayatollah took power, took Americans prisoner, until Reagan took office, and started the radical Islamic movement that we're fighting against today. Nice job there Mr Peanut.

The Iranians waited until the new president was sworn in as a form of punishment to Carter and America for their support of the Shaw. Just incase you were trying to make Reagan look like a hero he wasn't.

    This quote is probably one of the few times he said anything sensible. I do remember him as POTUS, and he was awful. It has been an unwritten rule, of sorts, for a former president not to criticize a sitting president, and yet Carter has done this a few times. He needs to stick to building houses - he's good at that.

    Jimmy Carter is a good pleasurable man and I have no quibble with the statement he made or others. He was just a god awful President.
