Real effects of the “War on Terror”

Teri- Oregon 2012/05/26 02:21:54
The “War on Terror” has inflamed many in the
Islamic world who had previously been unsympathetic to violent jihad.
Despite the hype, U.S. law-enforcement officials have found little
evidence of serious terrorist activities, this seems to be compelling
them to escalate their use of prosecution and entrapment to justify
their enormous budgets. Real effects of the “War on Terror” are what
these children will think of us.

There is an effect on how their children will see the generation fighting this war, but think of how our children will see us, when we have done nothing to stop it. I know how I see my parent's generation for electing George W two terms in a row followed by making the Obama mistake myself in 2008 in fear of wasting my vote. Now I see this year that if I vote either Republican or Democrat, it will waste my vote anyway. I'll either write in Ron Paul or vote for the Libertarian Candidate once they have it straight. I'm still in my mid twenties and still young, my generation and the one that follows can change things for real. Keep making progressive decisions like this country did in 2008 choosing a minority President. America does need to be restored and that starts here at home and will spread to foreign countries, but our current foreign policy sucks and there should be no more meaningless wars in the name of the US public in a perfect world. Over the last century America has gone from being an authentic shining city upon a hill filled with individual volunteers eager to defend freedom and right against evil to being a country run by progressively more resource hungry, aggressive, militant, corporatist crooks who are riding a brand name while hiding behind the cheap cracked mask of a phony moralist savior.

The simple truth is while tyrannical governments may have despised what America was, the people around the world clamored to come here and certainly had no beefs big enough to make them think ill of us to the point of attacking this country in such an egregious fashion. It was not until this countries political class and banksters started colluding with foreign tyrants to cash in on America's virtues that the persecuted victims in those countries finally found a good enough reason to send America a message.

Americans are losing their fundamental freedoms and their wealth and yet most -- "America can do no wrong" -- simply refuse to even look at the facts. You might as well be insulting their mother or kicking their dog.

They are hiding like that because they are female. That is their culture. They hide from any unknown, unrelated men as well as from cameras. Sorry, but I know better. There will be people who fall for this picture. And to add more, I think these women don't fear what our military men will do unless there is a fire fight and their fathers husbands and brothers and uncles will put them up as human shields.

Indeed! Our greatest enemies are in Washington. We MUST bring all the Authoritarians there to justice for what they have done to us, and to the world in our name.
