Rave this question if you ACTUALLY support FREEDOM OF RELIGION!

Yes...I respect freedom of religion and raved this question and shared it with everyone!
No...freedom of religion means no (Muslims, Mormons or [insert irrational fear of religion here])
You!

Freedom of religion means that you do NOT attempt to force your religion on others through the law.

It means that you do NOT attempt to legislate other religions...be they Muslim, Mormon, Scientology or Christianity.

It means respecting the strength of our First Amendment and not being scared of "others."

Get it together and respect our Constitution.

That is all.

Yes I do. I don't care what beliefs anybody else has, as long as first, they don't try to push it on me, second, they don't do me any kind of harm for not following their belief.

That said, when I see people being killed an oppressed and I hear the killers/oppressors saying they want to do it to my entire country, don't tell me not to get upset about it or think I am safe around them. I feel safe around assimilated Muslims, not radical ones. I would say the same for any radical element.

My concern is not with me respecting freedom of religion but others that do not respect that I am a Christian. Christianity is under attack from so many different sides from those that think anyone that could possibly follow Jesus and His teachings must be of a low IQ and just follow blindly. It is so much easier to not follow Jesus than it is to follow. To not be a Christian is to just live everyday life as though there are no consequences; but whether here and now, or later there are always consequences. Freedom of religion does not mean freedom from religion as so many think. no matter who you are, you are religious about something...

Yes, but Freedom of religion means I am free to worship God any way I choose! There are actually two types of Christians, those who believe in tolerance and not forcing their views, that they will practice and teach their views only to those who seek them, They may 'advertise' their views, but do not condemn people to hell for not following their Christian views. They believe God is not one to fear, but one who loves all, and forgives all who ask. They don't engage in telling people their religious views are wrong if they don't agree, they don't tell people they are going to hell for not believing, they don't feel that people should be bullied or shamed into believing in God. Jesus certainly didn't do that, and neither shall they. The second, is a form of Christianity that is intolerant of religious freedom. An extreme form of Fundamentalists, that believe their view is the only view, and if you don't believe it 100%, then you're going to hell, or you better get out there and knock on doors and convert x amount to repent your sins. They call other Christians who don't share their views, Satan, and can't have a conversation without quoting scripture. Thing is, they pick and choose the scripture according to what they want other's to believe and ignore other, as important, parts...

They call other Christians who don't share their views, Satan, and can't have a conversation without quoting scripture. Thing is, they pick and choose the scripture according to what they want other's to believe and ignore other, as important, parts of the bible that might contradict their scriptures. They believe God wrote the bible, and follow the Old Testament, ignoring what the New Testament says - love all. They also come from abusive homes, and so respond to that mentality.
If you google extreme fundamentalists ans mental illness, you'll see a lot of these people attracted to this extreme view are often those with mental illness, as there is a part of mental illness in psychosis called religiosity, meaning they become fixated and believe they are God's chosen above all, or that they are God. These are the people like Charles Manson, Jim Jones and his koolaide, and how wars over religion start. They are a forceful group of people. They believe we should fear God, that God is angry, and punishing....no wonder people are turned against religion! Alcoholic Annon. was based on spiritual principles to attract people who were suffering from alcoholism, and they understand that religion turns people off out of fear of being judged and punished. The Big Book mentions God, but allows each to decide for themselves . It has been a basis for attracting millions of alcoholics because of it's non judgmental ways. Theory - why would someone want to change and grow if they are already damned? Same with most Christians are welcoming and non-judgmental. Some churches use guilt to shame people into believing, others use the example and power of their word and love. Practice tolerance and acceptance.
I personally used to think and still do, if your version of religion is SO GREAT......why are you hear knocking at my door wanting me to join yet you're really saying I'm a sinner if I don't, I'm going to hell. They have no respect -they'd ring the doorbell and totally ignore the sign on the door saying, 'Pastor's Study'. My dad was a Lutheran minister, they saw the sign, just lacked respect. Hint...they hate large barking dogs!!!! AND RUN LIKE FOOLS!

No, I can't support a religion that denies other religions the same respect that they demand. Islamists want to rule the world. "There's no other God than Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet! Allah Akbar!!!" Either we fight them now, or we fight them after they get the Nukes. Semper Fi! Freedom or die!

China discourages all religion since Communism is basically atheistic, so numbers are hard to verify. However, most estimate there are about 30 million Muslims in China, and about 40-50 million Christians.

Many people seemed to have missed the point. The question was not "Do you hate Islam?", but "Do you support religious freedom?" The question refers to current attempts by American Christian fanatics to make Christianity the "official state religion" of the U.S., something our Founding Fathers would have vigorously denounced.

Brilliant rebuttal. Demand others to prove a negative.

Did Mormons burn down embassies or go on mass murder sprees from the Obama approved, tax-payer supported 'Piss Christ'?

    Nope.

So now that you are unable to show where Mormons have forced their religion on you, go sit in the corner.

Your logic is bad and you should feel bad.

Isn't part of the Mormon religion to go on missions to convert others?

Hasn't it been common practice of Mormon's to baptize others in death without permission?

You did not answer the question and you fail to demonstrate how Mormons are forcing anyone to do anything.

You are preaching your beliefs here on SodaHead. Are you forcing your beliefs down anyone's throat. Nope.

Yet by your logic, you are.

Is the irony lost on you?

Both of those examples are Mormons attempting to force their religion on others.

The latter is literally force, as the person baptized has no say.
  • Heisenberg iamthem... 2012/09/25 19:51:27

    Nope.

    No force. Nobody is coerced.

    Did you attend government school?

Must have. Words are redefined by liberals to suit their twisted logic.

    This is a great example.

I say we Christians should stop protecting you and leave you to other atheists and Muslims.

Then you might realize what coercion really means.

    Good luck!

That's not a "straw man" argument. They did, in fact, do so. It's part of their recent religious practice.

Most of the time, Religion is the thing that get's us i arguments, everyone has their own beliefs and having a conflict will solve nothing. Believe what you want to believe just don't harass people over what they stick to.
