None the less, it would be a good idea to produce the original. But that said there are many parts of the world like India for example where Birth Certificates are not mandatory.

My husband has a certificate with the fathers name and no mothers name. Get the drift?? Not his problem but not that I didnot question, I was told to keep quiet and let him have a life....

Maybe the similar case where they cannot find a record of the birth as not everyone is born in a hospital and even if you are its not registered.

Birth is not the contention of the allegiance but how well you carry yourself to the country for the naturalised country that you have adopted is the question.
