Every time a legal Gun is stolen the police take a report. They send it over to detectives in boxes. It sits there for 2 weeks until it goes to the out box. Then it's filed in a cabinet until someone uses the gun in a crime.
Why not start pursuing gun theft from law abiding citizens as a Federal Offense and when they find the perpetrator instead of giving them 12 months out in 4 for good behavior sentence them to 25 years in Fed Pen. And don't let them out for good behavior.
After just about 5 years you'd find few criminals in possession of stolen guns.We don't need anymore regulations. What we need is to use the laws we already have. Right now there are tens of thousands of illegal immigrants sitting in jail for Gun Law violations that we don't deport. And even if we did deport them they'd be back in a month because we don't lock down our borders.

+10How about an automatic Death Penalty for the use of a stolen weapon in the commission of a crime? No appeals, no nothing. And no family of any criminal killed during the commission of a crime may sue for anything.
Only registered gun owners can vote or collect tax refunds. a gun that's stole is a death sentence for the criminal. and any gun used in a crime is destroyed
ARMS, as defined by the bill of rights, are for KILLING PEOPLE. Any other use is ILLEGITIMATE AND SECONDARY. This is not my opinion - THIS IS FACT!
Gun control DOES NOT work. Most people will not turn in their guns if required, and clearly, even if the "assault weapon ban" passes, they will not be required to turn their guns in!
These gun related tragedies in "gun-free" zones will continue until either all arms are removed from society, or until armed guards are posted everywhere, and people are allowed to arm and train themselves!
First, it only addresses the symptom and not the problem (like gun control)
Second, we already have the largest prison population on the planet
Third, the cost would be enormous. 40 to 60 grand a year per person
Gun control, more cops and longer sentences don't address the cause.

Why give a minimum scentence or probation to someone convicted of a violent crime?
Besides, I could care less if they are stacked like cord wood. No violent convict should be on probation.
In all cases try enforceing the laws....
Stop Government from making new ones to support (or prop up) the old ones...
