Rave this: If you think the Demacrat controlled Labor Unions, had anything to do with all the manufacturing jobs going overseas.

Would an American be able to live on the wages paid to a worker in India or in the Far East ($1 a day in some places). I doubt it. You can blame the unions, big business will certainly encourage that, but the money they save and the increased profits they make as a result (don't even sell the cheaper made products for less), present a more realistic set of likelihoods.

Overwhelmingly yes. If I can get it done quicker, cheaper , and with less grief, why not send the business over there?

Definitely. The unions demand ever more pay for labor making the production of goods more expensive. That is not enough the unions support green agenda, global warming and marxism. Those manufacturers who can't increase the prices anymore look for a place were they can manufacture the goods and still make profit.

Resultant higher prices make effectively for a pay cut for those who are still working so the unions demand more pay instead of allowing to lower the cost of production which would preserve jobs, drop prices and be real wage increase by increasing the buying power of wages without having to print more money.

YES, they certainly do have something to do with it. ITS cheaper to use Overseas labor then pay these bloated and extreme wages to UNION members.... Union salaries have got completely out of hand. IN the days of early Unions they were good.. but now all UNIONS have done is promote GREED and OVER INFLATED SALARIES , PERKS AND BENEFITS....... this is robbery to fellow non Union members and taxpayers ......

I believe the ones who would make money, and agreed with free trade, back when
clinton was president. But it was a bad deal, and still is, because what they make
it is cheaper, we like that, make them wealthy. But what we make, we get paid higher
wages, they can't afford what we make. So, it has destroy jobs here and they have
gone over seas. I believe since we are not working, spending it has hurt everyone
around the world. Now, it has hurt alot of people, losing there homes.

The Democrat-controlled labor unions, using with their clout in both state and federal governments, have made a mockery of any sort of fiscal responsibility. This country has been moving into a government and union controlled budgetary crisis for years, with both parties' politicians willing participants in the unsustainable actions of crony capitalism. True capitalism has been buried under unethical regulatory schemes to line the pockets of politicians and lawyers.

    Yeah that makes complete sense.

Giving employee's protection is such a bad thing that the company directors had to move abroad and use cheap (in some cases child) labor.

Yes, that is a completely logical assumption.

Damn those unions protecting public service officials and private sector employee's from being mistreated financially or discriminated against. What terrible, terrible people.

I feel sorry for the big 'job creators' who have to fork out so much money giving people reasonable breaks and severance payments, those poor people have to move their jobs to where there is no unions and no protection for the children... I mean workers.

'Greedy' unions, but when they move against a politician it's always 'the average joe workers are being misrepresented by the greedy union executives'...

In this debate so many people stick their heads up their backside, employee protection isn't communism or anti-capitalism it's protecting the lowest part of the workforce from being exploited it's that simple.

I know for a fact they cost our community over a 1000 jobs when they refused to renegotiate their contracts over trivial greedy items such as FREE health insurance/no out of pocket and retirement package for 55 year olds...
It's ok though, no company around here would hire any of those union members so they moved away also and their union crumbled. I hope Mexico is enjoying all of those jobs because we aren't!

The United States is still relatively tax-friendly, with a marginal tax rate of around 27% on average income workers. As the world’s largest economy by far, the economic vitality and high standards of living in the U.S. speak for themselves. The United States boasts the 6th highest GPD per capita in the world at $47,440 and serves, in the words of Wikipedia, as “the epicenter of world trade.” Total GDP stood at over $14 trillion for 2008, which is more than three times that of the world’s second largest economy (Japan). American citizens also have the highest income per hour worked of any nation surveyed. By any objective measure, the United States and its relatively low tax rates offer the best of both worlds — reasonable social safety nets, and extraordinary economic capacity stemming from essentially free market policies. The standard of living in the US is evidenced by consistently being the most immigrated-to nation on earth — 38,355,000 immigrants currently call the US home, more than double that of Russia, which is second on the list.

We have the highest average income in the world already, with median taxes. We also have the highest amount of company paid benefits in the world.
Yet too much is never enough for some people that pay and benefit structure combined with the highest taxes in the world on businesses makes America a very uncomfortable place to do business, which is why so many are leaving.

What do you think it would take to compete with China for jobs? Would the vast majority of Americans have to live in total poverty - like China? Would we have to employ slave labor? Child labor? Eliminate child labor laws? Eliminate environmental regulations? Etc., etc., etc., , , , , , , I know its easy to blame the unions, but the purpose of business is to increase share holders equity - to make a profit.

If US companies can increase profits by moving their headquarters offshore to avoid paying taxes, and move their manufacturing offshore to avoid paying for labor, then that's what they'll do. Their loyalty is to profit - not the US. They will sell America down the river EVERY time to make a profit.

Actually the Mexicans (mainly the illegals) are undoing all the good work the unions did in the 30's to 60's by forcing wage growth down or stagnating it. The Middle Easterners may be growing at the highest birthrate but the Mexicans are a very close second and they are not as picky as we are as to the age of the women they are impregnating. You're from Texas also, surely you are seeing the same thing as I.

Clean your own pool and mow your own darn grass like I do... I do not have to compete with them as I am not too lazy to do it all my own damn self!!
No thanks, I will pass on working at the local 7-11 or driving a cab. What exactly was your point because you completely missed mine.
We have MANY illegals working at the plant I work at and they can easily buy fake documentation that gets them passed the politically correct examinations we are limited to follow when checking their documentation. Most of these people live in small rental houses with 4-5 other families. They do not need much money and send most of what they make back to Mexico. They are driving our wages down by being so willing to work for far less than we do. This is what I mean by how they are undoing all the good the unions have done.

Oh geesh... You imply that I am unable to converse with logically. Where shall I start on pointing out your ignorance. Let's start with your spelling and grammar shall we. 'Yes' should be capitalized and only has one s. 'You' should not be capitalized. 'To' should have two o's. Talk radio is not a proper noun thus should not be capitalized. Your sentence structure makes no sense. Maybe you should have repeated the 7th grade instead of dropping out. You liberal elitists never cease to amaze me with your intelligence. The only thing it is good for is the steady laughs it provides.
