One tell-tell clue is that they THINK the things they advocate are progressive - they aren't. Their ideas are as old as dirt and have NEVER worked. That's why they MUST have the force of government to make the rest of us heel to their command (demand). Without government force, the left wouldn't exist. It COULDN'T!

Looking at what has happened lately, I think I would pull back on the over confidence of Obama losing the Whitehouse, Romney's campaign style is very reminiscent of McCains, alot of dancing around the ring, but refusing to land a punch on the opponent.

Romney has not opened up yet - you notice he is not running adds , its a good idea for him to hold back as the MSM will use any and every dirty trick and given time they will find a way of marketing a lie against anything he says ...so holding the guns is a very good strategy / on the other hand Obama has a bad record so he is constantly test marketing SPIN to see what BS will give him traction on his needed distraction !

That may be, but if Romney waits too long to start firing rounds at Obama, then he might just wind up bringing a pea-shooter to a cannon battle. Sometimes you have to draw fire just see what the other guy is bringing to the fight and the sooner you know what you're up against the better. I hope Romney pulls it off in Nov. and in a big way too. I just know that I've seen over confidence bring down many a contender to crushing defeat too often.

The old saying that says. "If you want peace, perpare for war" can apply here, only with a twist, "If want to win an election run like your behind.

Well you've tripped over my point exactly, it was Sara Palin who energized McCains campaign, this is far too familiar for my tastes. and the real reason I'm stating this is to get people off the "Romeny is a shoe-in notion", it is a sure fire way to watch him lose.

People will not turn out in large enough numbers to assure a win for their candidate if they think it is a lock for that candidate to win. that is the risk we take with over confidence.
