Yes, they can have all the rights of a traditional male/female couple and they can be united, just don't call it a marriage, a marriage is between a man and a women.

I've been trying to figure this out but can never get an answer.

A "special right" presupposes someone has a right that is unavailable to you. So, when gays get the right to marry, what rights of the heterosexual community will be denied? How will gays being allowed to marry, deny a hetero any right?

Gay people have all the same civil rights as the rest of Americans. All these groups of people who want special treatment wait in line. Go through the existing system to achieve your political goals. Gays crave the power of minority status so that they may jam their agenda into reality on a federal level. They hope to have special laws made just for them. They compare their struggle with the equal rights movement but I find that offensive. They have equal rights....they want different ones.
What consenting adults do with their bodies are their business and I have no business telling them anything or moralizing. It really is their business but when someone else wants to have their own personal civil rights written into law while at the same time doing it in a way that bypasses my constitutional representation just isn't fair. Gay rights need to be a local political agenda from state to state where states legislate and theFed-Govv needs to butt out. Have your civil unions do whatever but leave my legal definition to marriage to the lawmakers of my state. If you don't get what you want, it means the majority people of that state disagree with you. That's called democracy at work.

I've been saying this forever: Deviants need to find another word for what it is they do. Marriage is a RELIGIOUS PRECEPT that came STRAIGHT FROM THE BIBLE.

Why does the gay community push for lowering the age of consent for children?

If men are attracted to men, why do they all dress up like women?

Why is the fact that AIDS is transmitted primarily through anal sex (Journal of the AMA) being suppressed by the media?

Why does the media ignore the AIDS pandemic while creating mass hysteria over a hand full of normal yearly swine flu cases?

How is marriage "straight from the bible"?

Marriage practically predates written history, how a marriage is conducted and its rules and ramifications has changed dramatically over time, as has the institution itself, depending on the culture or demographic of the time. Various cultures have had their own theories on marriage. So which culture of marriage are you talking about? The Comanche institution of marriage? Or the Hindu? The Mormon polygamist model? Or the non-polygamist Mormon model? Muslim marriage? Sikh? Buddhist? Jewish? Perhaps the rituals of the Ancient Greeks? That certainly runs back thousands of years. Marriage, of course, was around long before the birth of Christ and early Christian marriages were considered private, requiring no uniform religious or ceremony.

Until 1957 it was illegal for a black person to marry a white person in the US, the reasoning being used today is the same that was used then. "Violation of god's word", upending "traditional marriage" etc. etc.

Marriage has been an evolving institution, and it will continue to change. We no longer have multiple wives (in the US) as they did in biblical times. We are allowed to marry within separate races (as of 1967 that is, a mere 35 years ago). You're certainly allowed to think that the institution a...

You're certainly allowed to think that the institution as defined by some religious/political entities (not Unitarian Universalist, Quaker, United Church of Canada, United Church of Christ and Reform Jewish, however, they all support same sex marriage) has been some static, unchanging, in stone tradition that only came into being 2012 years ago, however to maintain that belief requires that you ignore history.

"Marriage is a RELIGIOUS PRECEPT that came STRAIGHT FROM THE BIBLE."
...seriously? You actually believe this? Marriage did not come from "the bible" marriage is a concept that practically predates written history and organized religion.

"Why does the gay community push for lowering the age of consent for children?"
Seriously? Do you have any... oh, I dunno, PROOF or SOURCE for this information?

"If men are attracted to men, why do they all dress up like women?"
"Why does it matter?" would be the better question.

"Why is the fact that AIDS is transmitted primarily through anal sex (Journal of the AMA) being suppressed by the media?"
AIDS isn't primarily spread through anal sex. AIDS is spread through ANY exchange of bodily fluids.

If they are already a couple then it seems that are united. To recognize that union as a marriage, NO. Marriage is between a man and a woman, otherwise God would have created Adam and Steve rather than Adam and Eve.

All of us are sexual. Judge your self. let it be. Mind your own business. How many ways do want me to say it? What I don't like seeing are people emulating the religions who crafted the death of Jesus constantly trying to give him guilt.
