Traditional conservatives are the ones who want to follow the original intent of the Constitution and the republic it represented. The one that observed a need for a strong national defense while not infringing on the people's right to bear firearms and create private militias as well.

Understanding that living in a morally positive society and practicing personal responsibility has nothing to do with religion and can be accomplished without the fringe input from all angles.

Really? Care to point out which Article or amendmant in the Bill of Rights that they have a problem with?

All of that was carefully and meticulously thought out and worded as such.
Since then, amendments have been added in haste (perfect example was prohibition and later the repeal of the same) and there are a few problems with the 16th which was never legally ratified and the 14th whichhas been molested to allow anchor babies just because someone sneaked across the border, broke Federal immigration laws and was rewarded.

But, back to your statement, who really hates the Constitution? Who is trying to repeal the 2nd, re-write the 1st, wants to ignore the 10th and so - on?

I would say ALL. Even the 2nd because they claim any regulation is against it.
