Increasingly, I have been made aware more and more to the TRUE hypocrisy from BOTH major American political parties, Republicans AND Democrats. They both march to the beat of the same drums, they just do so in a slightly different way and with different wording. BOTH are poisoning our country, BOTH are nothing like how they used to be, and BOTH are full of extremists who give little care to anything but the promotion and success of their own parties, whatever consequences that may have.
I just LOVE all the mudslinging, calling of names, threats, etc. that both parties throw at each other.
Where the HELL does any of that get us?
While all those political b!tches were sitting around debating about who's tax returns and school records were analyzed or even revealed or even really relevant, we in the science community landed a rover on Mars. What up now, DC?!?
Who reallllllly gives a sh!t about pieces of paper? I could have the most amazing background and be completely spotless in my image, win the presidency and then run this b!tch into the ground. We can turn in and give to people whatever pieces of paper they want saying whatever they want it to say, but the fact remains that a persons actions speak louder than their words. Sure, past actions and decisions are a marker that the same actions or decisions will occur again, but that's not a given guarantee.
As an example, the perpetrators of some of the worst mass murders in American history had almost no outward indication they were unstable and going to snap. Almost no police records, were college students or were well respected by their peers. Then look what happened ...
My point is that we can't judge a book by it's cover in most instances.
ALSO ...
Please do NOT feel like your vote for the President means ANYTHING. It doesn't. Your vote as a citizen counts for everything else, except for the Presidency? Why, you ask? Simple, really...
We have ZERO legislation that forces the Electoral College to vote the same way as their constituencies. So if the ENTIRE state of Colorado voted for one candidate in a landslide unanimous vote, there is NOTHING preventing the EC reps from voting for a different candidate. NOTHING ... Which therefore invalidates all votes for the Presidency as being a huge exercise in futility and waste of time.
DO NOT THINK that this means your vote does not count. IT DOES! You NEED to vote if you don't. WE are the ones who decide WHO our EC reps will be. Do your homework before you go and vote so that you can make the best educated decision for your candidates. Voting straight party ticket is ignorant, narrow-minded and one of the reasons the US isn't as advanced as we could be. We have a multi-party system for a reason ... Checks and balances. Our system has simply become too corrupted and too selfish.
Personally, I don't care for ANY of the Presidential candidates we have had for the past 4 elections. In my eyes, the last President to actually do ANYTHING even REMOTELY positive and forward-moving was JFK, which is why I -theorize- he was assassinated. To me, our founding fathers would take a look at what we've become as a Nation as a whole and sh!t a brick, then kick most of us the hell out.
One last thing ...
If you support and glamorize terrorists as being "freedom fighters", then you yourself are a terrorist and will be treated as such. Just adding this in as an after-thought. Some people need a history lesson hahaha. REAL freedom fighters don't resort to acts of terrorism to accomplish their agenda, especially when it comes to the murder of hundreds of innocent people.
Also, I titled this post to antagonize and mock the people on SH who make these posts for real, expecting people to rave them. And then they do! It's terrible. Attention whores is what they are ROFL! Anyways ...
That is all. Invader signing off!

I agree with most everything there. Both parties are lying imbeciles that say exactly what they think will get them elected, the only way to know anything about them is to look at their histories.
I hate the electoral college too, and your vote for president is worth very little or nothing in the final result. However, this part isn't quite correct:
"We have ZERO legislation that forces the Electoral College to vote the same way as their constituencies. The legislation about this is at the state level, makes sense since it's basically the states doing the EC voting. 24 states do have laws that the EC that's pledged to vote for a candidate does have to vote that way, including Colorado. Those are usually just fines and/or misdemeanors though, probably not something someone high enough to be posted as an EC voter cares much about. So there is SOMETHING, but it doesn't matter to much.

The EC voters are picked by the party, and pledged to vote for that candidate. So when you vote for the democrat (or republican, etc) you're voting for who that party has appointed to be the EC voter. It's very uncommon for an EC voter to vote other than he pledged.
Colorado is, as many states are, a winner takes all state. So if you haven't voted for the winner then ultimately your vote is worth nothing, as the state has disregarded the fact that you cast it.
