As a professional Soldier in the Army I willingly fight when my country needs me to. I obey orders and insure that my unit members do not violate them or the Rules of War. I have served in Vietnam two tours and other shorter happenings around the world. I would, more than some, welcome the end to all wars because I lose friends in every one of them. As a Soldier I also see the need for some wars. I pray for the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Air Forces personal who serve in Afghanistan and Iraq, I welcome home and thank everyone I recognize when I am out in town. I want there to be no more war but I also recognize that our job as Soldiers is to fight to defeat the enemy that our Politicians have decided should be defeated. The only way to stop all wars is to go back a few centuries and have the leader of the country lead the Military into battle, I guarantee it would be a long period before the next war. They would have the incentive to maintain peace.
So, what is your opinion, agree or not, I can take it.

Agreed, and it just seems like we are painting a big bullseye on the US, with all of this intervention that those countries don't want. And who appointed the US as the Marshall of the world anyway. Soldiers have become political pawns, used to protect economic interests of the fatcats. There's always a money trail.

I to was in Vietnam and obeyed orders.....also lost that war and fifty some thousand comrades. If I had to do it over again would'nt be the kind and gentler guy.

We know who the real criminals and terrorists are and they are right here at home. I would gladly join my military friends in fighting the right fight. Not fighting against innocents or where we don't belong. (Talking about Iraq here.) When can we gain the minds of the nation to bring justice against those truly responsible? How many men have to die for the profits of the elite? I understand your anger, but I hope it's against the right people.

Perhaps depends how far a person is willing to be forced to go against his or her will.I do not aprove of all war but I do approve of a just war if good is being attacked how far can good bend for wrong to proveil. war is indeed needed at times.

Yes ,the vast majority of Muslims are uneducated and have trouble living in todays world.I know theyre not all bad folks though and were quite happy living the simple life until much nastier folks stepped on their toes over oil,expansion,etc

Also, not all people who live in the Middle East are Muslims. As an atheist though, I would never admit I am not a believer over there. Hell, I don't admit it here because of all the hate I get from people. That is a thing I have against all organized religion, not just because someone lives in the Middle East, though.
