I've already switched to Mickey Dee's Southern Chicken Sandwich meal..

And you know what? It taste better then any Chick-4-Gay sandwich I ever had, except the one's I had when they first open back in the 80's.

I support a business owner's right to free speech and freedom of opinion without persecution. Boycott all you want, that's your right, your money, your decision......but keep the government out of it, or we'll have a problem, the "1st amendment" kind.

And BTW, when you start throwing your own brand of hate and bigotry around, wishing for those who eat at Chick-fil-A to get cancer and die, guess what, you've just joined the ranks of the Bestboro Baptist Church. It's the same hate, just a different cause!

Sorry for the confusion. I said boycott all you want, that's your right, your money. When I said persecution, I was talking about the government. Once the government is involved, then we have a 1st amendment problem.

You mean with the mayors pledging to restrict licenses to the franchise based on Cathy's beliefs? Yes, that is persecution and is totally wrong. And it would be a huge mistake to think that true liberals are OK with that, many of us are not. IF it were a case where people were actually being impacted by unfair policies (i.e. segregation or refusal of service) then I could see the necessity of a government body to step in, but that never happened here.

And I would hope that "true liberals" would not be okay with government using it's power to silence free speech, but I'm not sure anymore. First, you'd have to define what you mean when you say "true liberals," there are many ideologies that people confuse with liberalism, but I'll let you define what you meant. Example, are you talking about the "classical liberalism" of our founders or "modern day liberalism" that embraces socialism/fascism?

I like my chicken. Period. I could care less if a bigot owns the restaurant that serves it to me. Honestly, what did this guy do that was so wrong? It's not like he discriminates gays from buying their food. All he did was speak his opinion on an issue. You can disagree with his opinion, but to go so far as to boycott his restaurant seems a little silly to me. Did you boycott the United States because then President George W. Bush was against gay marriage?

And by the way, not everyone who's against gay marriage is a bigot.

I have to choose for myself what I find to be right or wrong, don't I? Just like you do for yourself.
And I choose to disagree with someone who is against gay marriage. If that makes me not want to eat at this person's chain restaurant anymore because it stands for something I don't believe in, so be it.
I think his statement was homophobic and I dare voice my opinion.

I guess you probably wouldn't go to "my favourite gay bar", as you put it.

However, I don't have anything against Americans, or the United States themselves.
