I have to look at those when I get home. I can tell you this, I'm not Catholic, and the Catholic Church has baffled me on more than one occasion. Nothing against Catholics, just the organized part of the religion. Thank you for providing me the links :-)

Confrontation is what achieved equality for blacks and all other minorities . You don't get your civil rights by keeping your mouth shut and letting bigots run rough shod over you life or your rights.Too bad you have no understanding what it's like to have someone's boot on your neck all your life preventing you from obtaining your rights. You might have a greater understanding of why confrontation is an absolute necessity.

Confrontation gains equality in the eyes of the law. However, it is definitely not the best way to do it. They forced the government to give them equal rights, and the people hated them for it because they opposed it. The KKK got a resurgence in popularity, crimes against black people increased, people tried to get the laws reversed. It didn't help black people in the short term at all. The way to get equality is to get the people on your side - and quite frankly, I cannot blame them for not wanting gay people to get married or adopt, because have you seen people in gay pride parades or those camp freaks that cry homophobe if anyone chastises them about it, people have a negative image of gay people as it is, showing us as camp weirdos wearing skimpy pink underwear and going out to clubs and being promiscuous (because they're the type of gay people people know about, unless you have a normal gay uncle or friend) only reinforces that image of gay people being unfit to be parents and it makes people think that the world would be better off without gay marriage, because then they'd get even more brash and loud. Not what society needs. If we were to portray gay people as just like everyone else, being mature and monogamous and having long term partners and having good jobs and not drag queens or effeminate, people would take a much more favourable view of us, and accept us and want equality.

I could care less who likes me or not. You reasoning is that blacks should have kept their mouth shut until bigots were ready to approve of them . What a joke and completely illogical. Civil rights aren't decided by public opinion.

And the comments about gay pride day and the people who participate are utterly laughable. Gay pride day is like Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Half those drag queens you bitch about are doctors,lawyers, accountants, nurses, cops, fireman and regular every day people. It's a day of fun and a day to be outrageous just like you straights do during Carnivale in Rio when women flash their breasts and men drop their pants. No, they should have gained universal support before trying to force their civil rights through. MLK had the right idea, show they're equal to everyone else, the Black Panthers and the League of Islam made black people look like violent thugs, Which didn't help their cause at all. And again, marriage isn't a civil right at all! Marriage is between two consenting adults of the same sex in New York, Iowa, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Washington DC and will soon be legal in California, Maryland, Washington State and New Jersey and Maine. It is also legal in two Native American tribes-the Coquille and the Suquamish. Not to mention legal in Argentina , Canada, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and Sweden with the United Kingdom soon to follow suit.
You can rail against it with your bigoted attitude as much as you like, but the courts will put an end to your discrimination and gay marriage will be the law of the land in a few short years.Then bigots like you can scream to your hearts content but you won't be able to do a thing about it.
