He never said he hated Gays just that he supported one woman, one man marriage. We do not hate Gays, We just do not agree with them and they do not agree with us.

Im not even american & i would never go to chic-fila-a....gays are human beings & dont deserve to be hated or discriminated because of it....they should be able to marry by now like seriously what is wrong with some people....

The CEO of Chik Fil A does not discriminate against homosexuals. Perhaps you should learn about the issue before you decide to ignorantly comment on international issues. Just a suggestion.

LOL i already know he has donated money against gay marriage & he openly said he doesn't want gays to marry...
so maybe you shouldn't talk to someone who already knows the situation...

It's his constitutional right to donate his profits to whomever he pleases. It's also his constitutional right to have an opinion. He does not discriminate against homosexuals in his hiring practices. Unless you think Chik Fil A's are used to marry people in America, you don't know what you are talking about.

I never said that...but if you're giving money to anti gay groups you're helping to discriminate..
again dont try to say things for me,if i thought someone couldnt disagree with me id be a religions/conservative they seem to have that down...

And its my constitutional right to donate to anyone i chose to. Im just women spreading the word of those who hate others, (something the bible tells us not to do btw) and they do discriminate against homosexuals in hiring practices. If your openly you WILL NOT GET A JOB THERE. of coures they are not allowed to come straight out and say thats the reason...DUH, that goes against equal opportunity huh? Sneaky like that. Such a shame.

Oh thats funny. It has been known for YEARS the CEO of this "christian" company has not liked or supported gays in any fashion as well as not hiring single mothers because it goes against his religious beliefs.Perhaps you should read up on a few things as well.
Maybe open your mind to some other possiblites in life. I understand food is food. So what. He is intitled to his beliefs AS WELL AS I. And you too of course. He can speak out against what ever he choses, so can you. SO CAN ALL THESE FINE PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT HOMOSEXUALS AND LESBIANS.

I do not believe in gay marriage. Therefore, I don't plan to get married to a gay man. Point is, live, and let live. The gov't shouldn't be the institution to define ANY marriage, homo or heterosexual. Civil unions are the business of gov't (taxes and the like), but church is the business of marriage. If you can find a church to marry you (there are quite a few) then all power to you. It is not for me or anyone else to dictate the morals of our neighbors. Oh... and I LOVE Chic-fil-A! Great food. But I can separate my food from my politics. So I agree with you both kinda-sorta.

Excuse me, the state issues marriage licenses, not the church. You cannot be married in a church without a marriage license from the state. There is no requirement to be married in a church unless you decide to do so.
What other people opinions on gay marriage are has no relevance to the issue. If straight people are allowed to obtain a license from the state then equality demands that gay couples be issued the same license. It's a question of civil law, not religious law. People's rights are not determined by other people opinions, they are determined by the right to the pursuit of happiness ,and the Constitution, regardless of anyone else's opinion. As long as the state involves itself in the institution of marriage, then gays should and will have equal opportunity. The courts are seeing to that as each day passes.

Like Tony said, you missed my point. My point was and remains, the gov't should get out of the marriage business and leave it to the churches. It would eliminate any reason for either side to complain since both sides can live with their moral convictions. Don't like gay marriage, don't join a church that supports it, and vice-versa. But kudos... your "rebuttal" articulated MY point quite well :) That, and Chick-fil-A still makes an awesome sandwich regardless of anything else!
  • Tony joseph ... 2012/08/07 22:18:58

Sorry if I don't think that the bigotry and intolerance displayed on this thread are funny. I've lost my sense of humor reading all this hate and vitriol. It's truly depressing to realize this kind of stupidity still exists after having fought so long (42 years) and so hard for equality. If I have misunderstood you, I apologize. I'm not here to offend decent people , only to challenge the unrelenting bigotry that runs rampantly and overtly on threads such as this. I cant believe some days that this ignorance is real.
  • Tony joseph ... 2012/08/07 22:31:34
    Tony
basically what my comment was supposed to say is that the entire issue is stupid on BOTH sides of it. Everyone making a big deal about what others opinions. Boycott this because they support gay marriage, boycott that because they don't.
  • joseph ... Tony 2012/08/07 22:39:19

Should gays remain silent as others attempt to suppress our rights? I never will, not as long as I live ,and not as long as I remain a second class citizen in the eyes of the law.
  • Tony joseph ... 2012/08/07 22:45:39
    Tony
Then keep your grievance with the government and leave businesses alone. Boycotts do nothing but hurt the peon employees.

That business stuck it's nose in my business when my right to marry has nothing to do with it's business. I will not stand idly by when that bigot is trying to step all over me. I don't give a good goddamn who likes it and who doesn't . Nobody demanded he make a political statement with his business, he stuck his neck out . Support his ignorance all you want. I will do everything within my power to make sure he does not hinder my cause. That means I will contribute more money than usual to the Human Rights Campaign to fight these battles in court than I would have before and more time to the Board of Directors of which I am a member. Piss me off and I fight even harder and lobby even harder. If you think a symbolic one day eat in at Chick-Full-of-Hate will make any difference, as we take our case to the courts where it really matters, and the real battle will be fought , you are deluding yourself. It means utterly nothing.
